I just got a little gem of a book from Linehan Press, Monterey, California. It's called Passing Through and it's by our own David Gitin. It's jazz and beat, haiku and humor, and will keep drawing you back because, you know, ya wanna be there.

To order and read up on it, go to Linehan Press (http://www.dslinehan.com/lp.html)'s website. Let's support David's literary efforts like we support jazz!

David, see this post (http://www.jazzcornertalk.com/speakeasy/showpost.php?p=314458&postcount=41) in the Vision fest thread in the Festivals 2005 forum.

June 14 through 19 with a special concert on June 12

Dennis González Yells at Eels on June 14!A schedule is now up at the Vision fest's site, and it shows Dennis G. Yells at Eels on June 19. That might be news to him; I've posted in his thread and asked him whether he knows what's up. Maybe the schedule is still in flux.

My copy's on its way. I've enjoyed David's previous work, so I'm looking forward to exploring something new from him.

Me too...not many remaining at Amazon at the moment

Maybe I luck out and have David write a few words inside the cover for me.
We've attended more than a few jazz gigs [and a few other events] over the years.

I've been enjoying this book quite a lot...heartily recommended

Any chance of a New York reading David?

Congratulations on the new one, David! Maybe we can give you yet another reason to visit Van this summer...a reading?

Maybe.
I've got an inquiry out.
The season (June) does not seem to be a favorite with various series.
On the other hand, I could always crash a gig of yours, do something together, right?

David, you know I'd say yes...but so far nothing booked in NYC for June

Last night an article went up at Berkeley Daily Planet (dot com) about me (and coreader Jack Marshall) in advance of our reading on Monday at Moe's Books on Telegraph Avenue in Berkeley, 7:30 P.M. Any of you in Bay Area attending? Come up and say hello, if so...

I'd love to make this one, David, but I have my regular dance classes to teach that night. I'm looking forward to reading your latest, though!

I can't make it tomorrow. You have anything scheduled for the "left" side of the bay?

Meanwhile, I've put in an order on Amazon. Looks like a great read!

Love to come, but won't be anywhere near Berkeley tomorrow. I'll be in my usual confines of the working world of TV in San Jose.
