The "Brookfield Jazz & Blues Appreciation Society", a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting Jazz and Blues music, meets every Thursday at 7:00pm at Brookfield Village Hall (downstairs), 8820 Brookfield Avenue, Brookfield (see map). All are welcome.
You will find the meetings informative and a great place to meet like-minded people and enjoy cool sounds. We cover all styles of jazz, including Dixieland, New Orleans, Swing, Big Band, Vocalists, Bebop, Hard Bop, Jazz Rock, Latin, Fusion and each and every type of blues from Blind Lemon Jefferson, via Jimmy Rushing and Muddy Waters to B.B. King.
There is no membership fee to join, and you can come as little or as often as you like. All we ask is for a voluntary donation of $1 for every weekly meeting that you attend. This money goes into club funds, to help pay for operating expenses, providing guest speakers and musicians and the purchase of club equipment.
If you are a musician or general Jazz patron and are interested in giving a talk on any jazz or blues subject, please contact Ian Tiele, (soapian@sbcglobal.net) who will be happy to sort out the arrangements with you. You DO NOT need to be an expert, just enthusiastic about your subject.
Also, please contact Ian if you are a musican who would like to perform or be listed on the website.
