Two major artists are being added to the June 5-14 Rochester International Jazz Festival (www.rochesterjazz.com) lineup, Festival Producer John Nugent announced today. They are internationally acclaimed Celtic fiddler Eileen Ivers, former musical star of the Broadway hit Riverdance, and hip hop superstar DJ Logic, one of the most in-demand session turntablists in the world.

DJ Logic Appears June 13 with Medeski Martin & Wood

DJ Logic, a star in the hip hop world, began his career rocking house parties in his native Bronx, and has taken turntables, beats, scratches and effects to a whole new level. He will be appearing as a guest artist with the always popular Medeski Martin & Wood. The event will be at 9 pm, Friday, June 13 at the High Falls Festival Site.

Eileen Ivers Plays June 14

Eileen Ivers and her touring troupe deliver heart-pumping, show-stopping performances that win rave reviews coast to coast from audiences of all ages. This will be her first appearance in Rochester. She will play at 8 pm on Saturday, June 14 at Water Street Music Hall.

Ivers is a magnificent talent and for three years was the musical star of the Broadway hit Riverdance. She has been named All-Ireland Fiddle Champion nine times, is credited on more than 80 traditional and contemporary albums, has scored numerous major motion pictures, and appeared with the London Symphony and other orchestras. The New York Times has referred to her as the "Jimi Hendrix of the violin" because her Irish music embraces the rhythms of African, Latin and American music.

Ivers Adds Even More Value to Club Pass

Ivers' performance will be the festival finale for Club Pass ticket holders. By purchasing a club pass a festival goer can see 40+ shows over nine days by some 30 international, national and local artists. The Club Pass is good for performances at Kilbourn Hall, Max of Eastman Place, Milestones, Montage, the Memorial Art Gallery, and the Big Tent at the Crowne Plaza Hotel - plus the Ivers' finale at Water Street Music Hall.

A Club Pass also permits entrance to the festival's nightly jam sessions held at 10:30 pm at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. Since all festival artists are staying at the hotel they often join jam sessions on an impromptu basis.

Only 2000 club passes are being sold for the festival and entrance to shows is on a first-come, first-served basis. Club passes can be purchased at Wegmans "That's the Ticket" outlets and online at www.rochesterjazz.com. A pass is $60 plus service charge.

Tickets for this event are available at Wegmans "That's The Ticket" outlets and at www.rochesterjazz.com. Tickets are $17 in advance and $25 day of the show. The same ticket is also good for two other High Falls shows that evening: Prime Time Funk at 6 pm and Anders Osborne Band featuring Big Chief Monk Boudreau at 7:30 pm.
