Not only do our Generals have to guide the fight against Iraqi soldiers, now they're spatting with each other!

Commander of our ground forces in Iraq, Lt. Gen. William S. Wallace has said that the Pentagon Generals don't know what's going on, proof of that being the underestimation of the fighting determination of Iraqi troops, especially the Feyadeen.

Brig. Gen. Vincent Brooks fired back from Qatar that they did not underestimate the determination of the Iraqis, but that it is hard to judge just exactly how strongly the Iraqis will fight.

The White House is pissed that these two leaders are fighting it out through the press.

I feel really secure that these boys are leading our troops into battle! Go Team Go!

I've just listened to the Noon news...this just in: President Bush is blaming the Media for this spat...

While I'm not aware of this very very unusual open spitting match among active duty types, if so, General Wallace can put in his retirement papers now.

Even McArthur did not survive openly defying his President's orders and policies. Like it or not, the Pres is also CinC of the miltary, and the troop estimates clearly had his blessing.

BTW I personally agree with Wallace's position, but he should not have gone public without resigning.

Can't we all get along?

I saw the press conference today and couldn't help but notice how much the truth upset Rumsfeld. Did he really think that intelligent people were buying the Pentagon spins? It would appear that the Iraqis are not the only ones these Bush people have underestimated.

Wonderful sentiment and expression of it, Monte.

I wouldn't raise Truman's firing of McArthur. During 8 years of Clintoidism, there were literally dozens of military officers sounding off publicly in the press in opposition to him.

Contrast this with the imprisonment of four marines back in the daze, in Japan, for handing out the Declaration Of Independence as a pamphlet.

Clintoidism

Sounds very Orwellian.
