Ten Pounds To The Sound is pleased to present the fifth annual no idea festival 2008 of creative improvised music. . 20 artists and friends from Tokyo, New York City, Boston, California, Baltimore, Houston, Austin and beyond coming together for four nights of performance, public workshops and open rehearsals.

Regarded as "..one of the finest creative improvised music festivals in the world." (Paris Transatlantic) this year's festival is more broad in scope than last, with diverse threads of interest connecting each night. From solos to large groups, known groups to ad-hoc combinations, each night will explore a variety of approaches and situations - each expressing a unique and exciting form of improvisation.

:Performances:
- Nightly performances are $10 - $20 sliding scale.
- A festival pass is only $25 and gets one into ALL festival activities.. Passes are available at End of an Ear and Waterloo Records (in Austin) beginning January 17th. Passes are also available online through paypal, payable to the email address: tenpoundstothesound@yahoo.com. (please include your name in your email message - passes are to be picked up at performances)

:Workshops + Open Rehearsals:
The public is invited to participate in the festival through open workshops led by visiting artists. Also, new to this year's festival is the opportunity to see how improvisors work together at length in Open Rehearsals.
