Lineup announced for 2008 Jacksonville Jazz Festival

The lineup for the 2008 Jacksonville Jazz Festival will include artists such as Dave Koz and the Poncho Sanchez Latin Jazz Band during the three-day event, the city announced Friday.
The festival will be Friday, April 11, through Sunday, April 13. Performances will be at The Florida Theatre on April 11 and move to the Metropolitan Park on April 12 and April 13.
The schedule includes:
April 11
7 p.m., The Jacksonville Jazz Piano Competition: Five finalists compete for a $3,500 award and the chance to perform at Metropolitan Park on Sunday.
April 12
1 p.m., Jacksonville Jazz Piano Competition Winner
2 p.m., Lynne Arriale Trio featuring special guest Benny Golson; Lynne Arriale (piano), Rufus Reid (bass), Anthony Pinciotti (drums), and Benny Golson (tenor sax)
3:30 p.m., 20th Anniversary Celebration of the University of North Florida Jazz Program “Past, Present, and Future” featuring the UNF Jazz Ensemble 1 Big Band, the UNF Jazz Faculty and the 2008 UNF Alumni Reunion Group.
5:30 p.m., Terence Blanchard
7 p.m., The St. Johns River City Band with John Pizzarelli
Noon–10 p.m., Art at the Met Art Show and Sale
Noon–10 p.m., 38° Latitude: A Wine Tasting Experience
April 13
10 a.m.–1 p.m., Jazz Brunch
10 a.m., Najee
11:30 a.m., Norman Brown
1:30 p.m., Poncho Sanchez Latin Jazz Band
3 p.m., Dave Koz
Tickets will go on sale in early March and will be $10 a day.
Tickets for the Jazz Brunch tickets are available for $40 and include general admission into Metropolitan Park on April 13. Tickets are available at www.jaxjazzfest.com or by calling (904) 355-2787.
