Floyd died last year. There was a great local tribute concert honoring him .Clarence Acox ( drums ) still has a group called the Floyd Standiford legacy band that works every week.

I'm only 35 and here I am saying "ah, the memories".
So glad I got into jazz at an early age. I've heard and seen a lot.

Not one, not two, not three, but four of my favorite pianists: Cecil Taylor, Marilyn Crispell, Georg Græwe and Satoko Fujii (she's playing with Larry Ochs' Drum Core along with Natsuki Tamura).

Having to pick and choose which shows to go to was a challenge this year...
