Some great shows coming up here in Vancouver. Pardon the perfunctory nature of the site. I know there aren't many Vancouverites posting here, but just for fun here's the link to my website:Zula Upcoming Shows (http://www.zula.ca/upcoming.html)

I saw that Shepik trio with Captain Hate when he was in NY. Excellent group.

SHouldn't this be in Festivals?

Most generous of you Pete, but I was too embarrassed even to call it a series. But what the hell, I'm spending enough time and energy on it that I should be able to call it a festival, I guess. You're right about the Shepik Trio. I'll take Tom Rainey any which way I can.

I seem to be seeing him almost once a week, often in my own neighborhood in Brooklyn. He'll be at Barbes tonight with Helias (& Malaby).

Enough of that! You New Yorkers'll be the death of me... You know, it would be less painful and cheaper for me to move to New York and enjoy the sounds, than to continue losing my shirt presenting music in Lotusland...hmmm....

That's Helias' Open Loose isn't it, w/ Rainey & Malaby? That is one kick ass band, man!

And they did indeed kick. Barbes is a tiny room--max 30 customers. Happily, it was full.
