Now that we know when everyone's birthday is, here's a thread in which to wish each other a happy birthday.

Moné's 32nd is coming up soon! I thought you were younger (good sign)

Nawab,

We'll only know someone's birthday if they choose to include it in their profile. I have a feeling that not too many people will do so. But............Happy Birthday to Mone anyway!.............

If you ask this properly in the "How to use the board" thread, I'll let you know.

You don't have to indicate your year of birth in your profile. That way your age is not revealed, but we can still wish you a happy birthday!

I think it would be a cool, fun function to exploit.

32 is a Magic age.

Indeed it is. Believe it or not, I can remember my 32nd birthday, and just saw a photo of me from that era. Our youngest child, Justin, celebrated his 32nd birthday last month.

Happy Birthday, Moné! Enjoy the magic.

Enjoy, Mone! Allow me to offer this toast in honor of your birthday...........

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ACHILLES!"

Mone, Mone, more to you. Speaking of fashion, I can't tell if the picture of Achilles with his arm shield and spear show that he is wearing clothes.

His head and feet are covered. In that time period it seemed that with the warriors fighting, that it was all that was needed.

Ouch!!! what happened if they got wounded or just the falling in the stones would cause of lot of bleeding, burned or whatever else.

The Greek Olympics were always played in the nude.

Makes one wonder!

Mone, have a happy day!!

Hey, that's okay. I accept birthday wishes up to six months late.

Pat: I've lost track of my friends that took your cats, unfortunately. Last I heard, both were doing just fine and had acclimated well to their new surroundings (although I'm sure they miss the nice big woods that you called your backyard). Morris had even gained some weight.

I guess my post from yesterday didn't make the board.

My twin sons celebrated their sixth birthday on March 18th. My daughter Jadie had her third birthday on April 25th which is also Al Pacinos day.

My birthday will be on August the 18th. Since I have been at both JCS and now on JC, which is counting 8th years, I have never had one person wish me a birhtday.

It's not for me to whine about them. I could never stand celebrating these things after I turned 20. Now it seems that even folks in their eighties want to be recognized for their efforts..

I will really be interesting when August comes how many folks on this board will remember mine.

Just an astute thought or maybe a slight observation *^*

Thank you everyone...

Being 22 is taking its toll. My bones creak a little more when I get out of bed. It takes longer to get the penis going. I notice more strands of hair falling out with every shower. I can't do the things I used to love doing and am finding it quite impossible to imagine the horrors to come at age 23...

Pray for me.

Thanks everyone! Had a party last night, mostly embassy folks, had some yummy Lebanese food brought in - gonna dig in for some leftovers now... Somehow I managed not to get drunk last night, but the fringe benefit is that I can drink today.

I usually have a clever wordsmithing friend come up with a quick poem or something for my invites - this is what he popped out in 40 seconds when I asked him for a sardonic, PG-13 haiku for the party invitation:

I am 35
Halfway to the cold, cold grave
Come help push me in

bn, actually took me a while to get that image - nice find! :)

Scott--Go to User CP ---> Edit Profile and fill in your birthdate. Then it will show up on the calendar and (on June 4) at the bottom of Speakeasy's opening page. That's the only way we can tell when it's somebody's birthday.

Thank you everyone!

What a wierd birthday. All day today I'm in this crappy management training class. What a waste! Even worse, on my way into work Tuesday, I got rear-ended by another car... most likely totaled the Park Avenue. The good news is no one got hurt.

The best news is that I have lived to see another digit added to my total! 41! Hooray!

It is far better than the alternative.

Now, let's see if I can double it.

PS. Tonight I'm cracking open my first-ever bottle of Turley Zin. I hope it's not corked.:)

Later,
Kevin

Did someone say "Valerie"?

Hit it boys!

Hey Valerie, Baby what's the matter with you?
I did all of the things that you wanted me to
I went downtown with my pocket knife,
Cut your other man, but I spared his life
Valerie won't you be good to me?

Hey Valerie, Baby what's the matter with you?
Come on, come Baby, and tell me true
Hey now Baby, what did I do?
I shot my dog 'cause he growled at you
Valerie won't you be good to me?

Valerie what's the matter with me? I never ever done you no wrong
I sing the blues nearly all night long.
Valerie what's the matter with me? You know I'd do anything that you'd say
I can't understand why you tell me "Please go away"

I ain't afraid of the cold, cruel world outside
No chicken little running from a falling sky
The only thing troubles me is you. If you leave me what will I do?
Valerie won't you be good to me?

You got me down on the knees of my shaking feet
Can't play the blues 'cause for you I drop the beat
Valerie what's your complaint? I try to be everything I ain't
Valerie won't you be good to me?

Valerie, you gimme a heart attack
You say that I'm history
You say I'm no good
Then you wanna be like
two babes in the woods
That's not what I'd call playin to the gallery
I keep wait, wait, waitin for Valerie

Oh Valerie, why don't you put that down
Valerie, you're gonna choke or drown
If you don't get off of that junk food jag
I'm gonna take you home in a body bag
Can't stand to see one more calorie
I keep wait, wait, waitin for Valerie

Well I'm soft in the head and I give her hard cash
She spends all my money on junk and trash
Nylon furs, plastic shoes
Fifty seven things she's never gonna use
Never never never gonna use

She's got a figure like this
lips like that
red fingernails
teeth like a cat
I know she's gonna be the ruin of me
She's got me running on nervous energy

Valerie, she wants to move out of town
Valerie, she wants no money down
She wants a leopardskin this
Tigerskin that
Matching luggage
Matching hat
I can't afford her on my salary
I keep wait wait waitin' for Valerie

Hey Guys and Gals:

Thank you so much for your birthday wishes. I didn't have access to a computer while I was back in L.A. from June 11th and when I returned to Boston on the 26th, my mother was in intensive care. She passed on the 30th so things have been pretty hectic for the past almost month.

I actually had a lovely birthday dinner, ironically at a new New England seafood restaurant in Venice, CA. It's called Menemsha after the town in Martha's Vineyard. There were 20 of us on the patio and I had the Menemsha Special which consisted of oysters and clams on the half-shell, mussels, shrimp and blue-point crab. They were served with four incredible sauces on the side.

Many of you here have been very kind and supportive to me during the last year and I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you so very much.

Thanks again, all! In what she claims was merely coincidental, my wife had 7 yards of manure delivered today, mostly for the backyard garden area. You have no idea what this place smells like! We have houseguests coming on Sunday and the original plan was for the kids to sleep out in the back, but there's no chance of that now.

Saturday, Rita and I will go to one of the local restaurants we haven't visited yet (we have an embarassment of riches here in Healdsburg), and then see "Winged Migration." Sunday is our son's 21st birthday. (It's also the birthday of my dead best friend.) On his first "legal" day, we'll take him out for a champagne brunch.

Put the date on your calendars for 2004! It's on a Saturday.

There's no stich, but there's a strich and there's a stitch.

Strich has posted 35 times and is from Alexandria, VA (birthday and age unspecified).

Stitch has never posted and is from Canada; he or she is apparently 15 today.

Happy birthday, stitch!

Happy birthday jazzsingerpianist, whoever you are. With a name like that, how can you not have a happy birthday? On the other hand, it doesn't say goodjazzsingerpianist, so who knows?
