Lyrics for "Sometime Ago"

I've had this song going around my head since it was on a tape an old teacher gave me as a teenager. Not sure who was singing - male vocalist. *Maybe* Tony Bennett, though in my mind's ear it doesn't sound like him. I dug around in google the other day, and Gene Lees was given in several places as having written the lyrics. I can remember about half of them.

Can anyone help?
