yamaha keyboard to imac

Hello there- My yamaha p-80 keyboard has a 'to host jack' to personal computers. there is a mac position, but the book says to connect a mini din 8- pin cable at both ends. The imac has USB inputs.This way you can skip the midi interface.
anywho, Is there a way to hook up?
