I'm venturing into some unknown territory here and could use some assistance. I'm working with a four-piece band which is all-electric and utilizes 3-4 vocal mics. We have several typical wedge-shaped stage monitors, but not enough of them, since I want my own personal monitor. However, I don't want to go into debt to purchase it, either.

I'd like to have a very small self-powered monitor available to me at ear level. Cost is a consideration, but I don't want distortion or crappy fidelity, either. I know, this is a lot to ask. I simply want to be able to take a feed from the house mix and get closer to certain aspects so I don't have to strain or guess at what I'm hearing.

Jazzzoo? Anyone?

Thanks!

I'd like to keep the cost to under $200.00 if possible. I realize that's asking a lot, but I'm not looking for an "answer to a maiden's prayer", either. I mostly want to better hear the instruments and vocals without unnecessary distortion in a small, lightweight cabinet, something approximately 14" x 6" x 8". I'm not seeking or expecting perfection.

For example, the Galaxy Audio CORE PA5X140 Powered Hot Spot Monitor is something I'd seriously consider. Comments?
