Wow!! Gee!!!

I have just finished listening to __________________ on the __________________ track of his best yet ___________ CD, playing the absolutely GREATEST solo I have ever heard by this absolutely most magnificent ________________ player, who stands absolutely ALONE, HEAD AND SHOULDERS above the rest, in the entire jazz universe !!!!!

No one else at any time in the recorded history of jazz has come even close to this absolutely most superb _____________ player.

Fallin' dead drunk down the mountain!

Where the hell is Steve anyway?

Oh, and did anyone give Lund directions to the new place? Please say you didn't

If we had the "Who's on line" feature we'd maybe know more.
His last siting was that he is trying to figure out how to post a poll (see profile, last post)

Lund is a big boy now,he'll find his way. Fer sure, he needs a computer to do it.

I don't know how that would help, but anyway, at the bottom of each post is a blue note graphic. A reddish-pink dot appears in the blue note when the poster is online
--unless the poster has activated the "invisibility" option, as I have.
: D

So theoretically, one could look at any of Steve's posts to find out whether he's online.

Goody hasn't made it, either. He probably took one look and got confused.

I wonder if anyone has signed up with a different name without telling anyone who they are. It's a mystery to me why people do that.

Has Omar been seen yet?

Steve, if you are reading this, I bet it is because you're registered but can't figure out why you can't post. You need to check your email (must use valid email) and click the link to complete the registration.

Steve has posted three times. If you go to the Members feature, you can search for his posts and see the details.

Speaking of Goodie (knowing Reynolds will *never* abandon ship), has anyone heard from him since his cancer-scare thread at the old Alley? That thread had disappeared when I went back to check on it a second time.

Gary--Goody's here. He got here last night some time. If you look in the Members area, you can search for his posts and see the details.

You guys think you can talk smack about me and get away with it?

I'm scanning every thread on JC right now!

Good to see that in any new JC format - I can still be a thread-killer.

Not too fast, Erik!

It's always been my ambition to have the last word on every thread.

Just to answer the question the thread began with, Steve's first post was on March 24th on the "Top Ten Trumpeters" thread.

Uli

Wrong, Tom. According to a search for Reynolds' posts in members his first post was on the WAYLT thread.

Ah, but the thread question is NOT about his first post but his first THREAD!

I think for his first one he's going to be stoked, so it will be so esoteric and self-referential none of us will ever know what he meant. Maybe he'll forget, too.
Like Browning: 'When I wrote this, only God and I knew what it meant; now only He knows."

And unthreaded threads.

What's the best music you've never heard?

Zoroastrian chanting from the Zagros Mountains. . .I mean c'mon Squaredance, it's so recondite it has to be good!

And yes we can discuss Joyce anytime!

I say Steve's first thread will be either be "Brotz-Parker-Drake Live at Tonic" or some new Evan Parker release in the Record reviews section.

Steve's first thread will undoubtedly be a rave review of the brand new Eremite 2 cd release by Brotzmann/Parker/Drake, Never too Late But Always Too Early, which happens to kick some serious ass.

It was recorded live in April 2001 in Montreal, Canada.
