Hi,
I've noticed that whenever I try to search the archives for "Sun Ra" it comes back with no matches. From browsing through the archives I know that this is not true, that there are many messages and threads with Sun Ra in the title. So why doesn't he show up in the search? Is there some minimum number of letters that is needed for a word to be searchable?

The archive search is a very wonky thing to begin with, but I believe there is a character limit, which might be higher than three letters.

Poor Sun Ra, blacklisted from the archives search. Maybe I should try searching under "Saturn."

I think perhaps when we made the upgrade to this board the search function in Archives wasn't activated. This is one for Moné be patient he's getting married soon...

Lois, Crawjo is talking about the archives from the old board, not this one.

Yes, the old archives. It isn't a catastrophe or anything. Just something I noticed.

I know he is - but since the upgrade, I haven;t been able to use the search function on the archives from the old board... Have you?
We don't have an archives for this board yet....

The upgrades done to this board have absolutely no effect on the search function for archives of the old board. They are completely unrelated. I know it was transferred from Coldfusion to SQL, but it's an entirely different database than the one this board is using.

Moné is absolutely correct and I am in error. The search has to be more than 3 letters. I contact the guy who imported it so ra and or sun won't work.
Speaking of Sun Ra - Bernard Stollman contact me. I haven't returned his call yet, but I'll keep you all posted.
