| A quick recap for those who don't want to slog through the rest of this thread:
Brother Goodz: (Coolidge) was a do-nothing president whose hands-off policies opened the door to Hoover's hyper-pro business corruption, Tea Pot Dome and eventually the Great Depression.
Root Doctor: The Teapot Dome scandal occurred during Harding's administration.

Brother Goodz: But the policies of the Hoover/Coolidge years made it happen.
Monte Smith: Here's the problem you have, Goody. How can the policies of the Coolidge/Hoover years (1923-29, 1929-33 respectively) have made the Teapot Dome scandal happen in 1922?
Brother Goodz: Fer cryin' out loud, Monte. I really get sick of this crap, Monte....I honestly do. Ultimately, it became Coolidge Administration's problem [the vice president under Harding in 1921-23; there would be your connection to the time frame, Monte] after he was appointed in 1923 and they "took care" of it.
Brother Goodz: In other words, though Coolidge didn't start the Tea Pot Dome, he ultimately finished it by putting in place policies which only made things worse for the economy.
Achilles: There are some really fascinating interpretations of history on this thread.
