FREE EVENTS ON THE MILLENNIUM STAGE
As a part of the Performing Arts for Everyone initiative, the
Millennium Stage offers free performances every day, 365 days a year, at 6pm.

JAZZ /BLUES
Fri. Apr. 1: BETTY CARTER'S JAZZ AHEAD
Various ensembles made up of competitively selected, emerging jazz
artists complete their weeklong residency with a free concert of original
compositions.
Tue. Apr. 12: THE BUCK HILL QUINTET
The Buck Hill Quintet is led by masterful saxophonist Buck Hill, who
has played with artists such as Sonny Stitt, Shirley Horn, Miles Davis,
and Cannonball Adderly.
Fri. Apr. 15: THE ELLSWORTH GIBSON QUINTET
The Ellsworth Gibson Quintet, led by pianist/organist Ellsworth Gibson,
has performed at D.C.-area venues including Westminster's Jazz Night
and 18th St. Lounge.
Sun., Apr. 17: THE DEBORAH BENNER SEXTET
The Deborah Benner Sextet celebrates American composers from the jazz
scene and the roadway stage, including Porter, Berlin, Gershwin and
Ellington.
Thu. Apr. 28: THE REDD BROTHERS QUARTET
The Redd Brothers Quartet features pianist Robert Redd, who is also a
member of the Keter Betts Quartet, and percussionist Chuck Redd, who has
performed with Charlie Byrd and Dizzy Gillespie.
