Another vote for "Playground" by Steve Kuhn/Sheila Jordan, and one for their live quartet album as well, also on ECM. Mystifying why they don't reissue those.
The Waldron/Lacy "Live at Dreher 1981" reissue is 4 CDs?? The original was one LP! You'll hear me clapping on one of those nights (not the one with Enrico Rava, though).
I was going to say "Jim Hall Live" and that Paul Desmond quartet live set with Ed Bickert, both mid-70s - but then I checked, and they've been reissued!

What I'd like to see reissued on CD:
Sonny Fortune:
"Awakening" (Horizon/A&M)
"Waves Of Dreams" (Horizon/A&M)
"Serengeti Minstrel" (Atlantic)
"With Sound Reason" (Atlantic)
"Long Before Our Mothers Cried (Strata-East)
Elvin Jones:
"Earth Jones" (Palo Alto Jazz)
"Genesis" (Yeah, I know it's in the boxed set...I just one the one, O.K.?)
Chuck Wayne/Joe Puma:
Interactions (Choice)

Actually, the orignals were two 2 lp sets. The one lp issues(there were two as well) were put out on hat Musics and were considered reissues AFAIK.

Phantom Navigator
Reid,
The only boots I've come across from that period so far are from Dec '85 and Nov '86: The '85 group plays mostly Atlantis stuff; the '86 group plays a few Wayne tunes from WR. There's also video from Newport and Pori from '86.
I've come across audio and video from '96 (mostly High Life music). I haven't heard any Phantom Navigator material live but would love to. I've heard Wayne play Over Shadow Hill Way from Joy Ryder. What's interesting is how different the live arrangements are from the record. Complicated stuff.

Lacy/Mal at Le Dreher 1981
I was there on August 10, 1981. I had a memorable afternoon playing with Lacy at his apartment on August 6.

The one I would really like to see reissued is "Gypsy Folk Tales" by Art Blakey (Roulette 5008). I think that was the first time I ever heard of Bobby Watson.

As for the wish list, I'd like Steve Kuhn and Sheila Jordan's Playground for me, since that's where I first fell in love with both of them.
And now I'm thrilled to report that I've just learned this album, along with two other ECM titles by Kuhn, are soon to be released in conjunction with a new Steve Kuhn disc on ECM, most likely in early fall. Woo-hoo!

Yusef Lateef put out some fantastic material on Impulse in the 60's that has never (to my knowlwdge) been reissued on CD, except for "Live at Peps".
They need to make available:
"Psychicemotus"
"1984"
"A Flat G Flat and C"
"Jazz Round the World"
"The Golden Flute"
Have they ever reissued on CD the Ornette Coleman Impulse LPs?:
"Crisis"
"Ornette at 12" ?
They seem to spend so much time reissuing the same Coltrane material in different packages with extra tracks.

Ornette owns those sessions now.
I have all of the Lateef's on lp except for Around The World and they would make a great set.

Dr. Dave: I hear you about the Elvin. I wanted "Puttin' It Together" for years but didn't feel the need to spring for an 8-disc Mosaic box, then some wonderful soul put it up on Ebay and I was the lucky one. "Genesis" is a nice album too but I have a serviceable vinyl copy of it.
Two from the ECM catalogue I've never seen on CD that I would stand in line for:
Sam Rivers, "Contrasts"
Enrico Rava, "The Pilgrim and the Stars"

Frisco beat me to it. I've got a vinyl copy of Crisis but I'd love to hear it on CD. The first time I'd ever heard Ornette was in an excerpt of "Song for Che" that was on a compilation of saxophonists from Impulse. Anyway, I searched for the LP for YEARS and finally found it in a cut out bin somewhere (can't remember where, maybe 3rd St. Jazz and Rock in Philly).
I'm kind of obsessive about this disk. Not the greatest Ornette of all time, but it has sentamental meaning for me.

Wish they would reissue a rare LP that came out in
Japan on Vantage. This was titled 'The Piano Man' and had rare tracks by Hampton Hawes and Sonny Clark. The Sonny Clark tracks were taped at the Lighthouse and also featured Frank Rosolino, Bob Cooper and June Christy.

I'd like to see Joe Henderson - Mode For Joe remastered. This fantastic session unfortunately suffers from whatever it is when you think your speaker cable disconnected.....channel distortion?
In any case, I love the music but don't care for how the horns are separated between channels.

I hope that, someday, Red Records will released Mr Sam Rivers "The Quest" on 180 grams LP. My original LP is now mostly unlistenable, alas.

Great session. I have the Japanese lp. Marion Brown's Jubilee, also on Fontana, should be reissued as well.

Marion Brown is one of those artists who get's overlooked way too often. Aside from Three for Shepp, I don't think any of his Impulse recordings have every been reissued on CD. I'd certainly add Geechee Recollections and Sweet Earth Flying to the list of recordings that ought to be reissued.

I agree. I own three copies of Sweet Earth Flying on lp.
The second improved on the first since it was a $1 bin find that had a crappy cover but decent vinyl. But then I couldn't pass up on a sealed copy for $7

I would like to see reissued:
The Arista-Novus catalog: Braxton's New York 1974 and Five Pieces 1975, Baird Hersey and the Year Of The Ear.
The rest of the Don Ellis Orchestra on Columbia: Autumn, Fillmore, and Tears Of Joy.
The Embryo catalog: Brute Force, Novac, Wm. Fischer.
Except for the Ellis, I'm not holding my breath. But still hopeful.
