Has quit quitting
Favorite Obscure Jazz CD
Ants in a Trance by Mitch Seidman.
Seidman, who teaches ear training at Berklee College of Music, is one of my favorite guitarists.
I came across this CD completely by accident. I got a critic's copy from a now-defunct weekly newspaper, which only covered live music.
"Ants in a Trance" has guitar, bass, bass clarinet and viola. It has a distinct "Jimmy Guiffre/chamber jazz" kind of feel to it. (In fact, Seidman covers Guiffre's "Frog Legs" here.)

I listen to it about as much as any of my many other much more famous jazz favorites, including works by Kenny Burrell and Wes Montgomery.
