Probably right...rare these days that someone of that musical calibre gets to do more than sit in, although with Cosby in the chair, we can wish for more!

It was ok, he sat in with the band and did his mumbles bit, played his horn upside down. At the end of the tune they gave him a break to do mumbles and he just went on and on, it was funny. I bet it was driving the producers crazy though.
Cosby was more incoherent than ever, still funny though.

I enjoyed the show a lot! Having said that, although I found Cosby very funny, he wasn't so much incoherent to me but verbose (and even repetitive)! Even he referred to his monologue as going on for "24 hours"! And as much as I loved CT, his mumbles bit should have been much shorter. After awhile, it's pretty repetitious too. Mostly, I loved seeing him look so good. What a survivor he is, given all the medical problems he's had through the years. To look at him, you'd never know! He's such a sweetheart!

I watched the show as well. I thought the whole show looked like it was put together at the last minute. It would have been nice if Cosby went over to Clark and acknowledged him vocally - just seems a little loose but I thought Clark looked terrific.
I'm proud to announce that Jazzcorner will be the new home of Clark Terry!

Lois - glad to know that Clark has a new home!
As for the "put together" look of the show, it probably was last minute. Letterman has been suffering from "shingles" for a few weeks now and they have been featuring a different guest host every night. I don't think a lot of work is going into these shows. They just ask the substitute to do whatever schtick they normally do and then toss in extra guests to fill up the hour. Sometimes it works......sometimes not. The best show so far was Elvis Costello.
