I'll make a point of being there, especially if there's food and cocktails involved. Sorry to hear my friend Sisco is indisposed but I clearly understand his situation...............

Pat, since you know the organizers, perhaps you could suggest some acoustic reflectors, hangs and such... whatever would work. It doesn't need to be an expensive proposition. Someone in the community might be able to help out...? I hope you're there for the whole stretch.

    I'll get to meet Jimmy...yaaay!

Hmm, the lineup is not bad and the company looks delightful. But I really, really wish it was still in May. The timing is tough, particularly with a UE tour in the works for late July/early August, but I won't completely rule it out yet.

I'm ready. Lay it on me, baby. 'Twould be the best of gigs. Better than the "captive audiences" I played for at the California prisons years ago!

Not sure, man, though I hope so. We'd been wanting to do a West Coast tour (our first ever) but we also just realized that we haven't actually toured the East Coast properly in 3 years! It'll be likely have to be one or the other, and hopefully we'll make a decision soon.

There's a good and better room now in Burlington, Blivs. I could look into that for you later this spring if you guys tour in the east.

Damn, I wish I could get to NYC this year.

You know that's not acceptable! This is what I see in your future: A minimum 2 night pop in & out... You're just around the corner in Dar El Harb, no?

    Looking forward...

Cem, I get the feeling that Doc Martin is one of those kinda private guys like Al In NYC and RBS. But of course Al eventually met some of us, lived to talk about it, and had a few good times to boot. Wish he'd check in a little more than he does. I also hope to meet Doc Martin as well one of these days...........

Actually I *do* have a free United round-tripper that Mrs H and I each got for letting ourselves get bumped out of San Jose last July (and getting home even earlier; life was good) that might be well spent on this. Stranger things have happened. btw, Dar al Harb is a pretty big place.

That's understandable, but I think (hope) that you're wrong about Doc. It would be a pleasure to share a spliff & a mart with JC's own Ornitholologist & Dead Scholar, among other things!

I forgot RBS's name too. Sorry, man...you game? Be a sport... Maybe Dolan will show up and you two can arm-wrestle too... naaah he didn't even make it to Dennis' in-state gig... (he oughta show up after this...) I'd love to meet Al, too, if we're good enough for him...

Just ask Steve Reynolds about modern dance and the Vision Festival.

I'll not be attending any VF shows, but would gladly hang with any folks coming into town...Though it ain't the same without Sisco and Heisler out for a good bender...

    Bye-ya

You're right. I'll shut up. Maybe you can tell some people not to show up instead or which shows are gonna suck the most. (When we meet, can we box instead of arm-wrestle? It may be more fun...)

I really will shut up after this inquiry: I wanna do some real poking around in NY this time, so I'd appreciate some ideas from you folks. I'm gonna try not to buy much, including music (we'll see), instead, I wanna spend my days really getting to know the city a bit. A couple of years ago in Victo, Kurt Gottschalk was telling me about the northernmost part of Manhattan, for example...that it's still prety wild and green. Being the hippy that I am, I wanna check it out. I'll have to go to the Bronx zoo (never been to a zoo), I guess & harrass Doc Martin. So much more I wanna do, including checking out different hoods and such...I'll have 10 days, so it should be a blast...

(aaahm, maybe I should start another thread about the social aspects & travel related bits of the Vision Fest Vacation...)

It now looks like I'll be returning straight to Boston from DC and so won't make Vision this year. (I'll have to take a rain check, Brian. Thanks anyhow.)

I Look forward to reading all about the shows, hangs and dinners here!

Hey, Paul. Have you heard from Josh at all? I haven't in a long while. I sent an email some long time back to his address as it was known to me (I've switched both machines and servers and don't have my old address book) but didn't get a reply. If you have hear from him, ask him to PM me here at JC so we can reconnect. Thanks.

That's Fort Tryon Park at the northernmost tip of Manhattan. From what I understand, it's the only section of the borough that's essentially unchanged from its natural state. Of course, that's discounting the pathways and such, not to mention the train tracks and water tunnels running beneath it. But yeah, it's pretty open and unpopulated up there. The type of place where you kinda expect to find dumped bodies. I mean that in a nice way. Pretty cool to bike or walk around there with no idea where you're going to come out.

Yeah, I'll go see Dennis, at the very least. And I'll come to a hang or two.

The Cloisters is very nice in Fort Tyron Park. I'm going there this weekend!

    Maria Naidu

I think she was a dancer (maybe still is) w/ Jennifer Muller's dance group "The Works". This is a terrific dance group which I've seen a few times at the Joyce. I've probably seen Maria but didn't know it.

She'll probably be a lot of fun & great to work with. I can't wait to see it!! I think she's a choreographer in her own right, too. I think this will be a great collaboration for you, Dennis. Exciting!

I'd like to be considered for the sharing of spliffs as well!

Oh and if anyone needs anything in particular from México I'd be glad to bring stuff and all...
