    Burt Goldblatt - R.I.P.

    The photographer/grapic artist Burt Goldblatt died on August 30th. For many years he lived in Hopkinton, a suburb west of Boston. Along with David Stone Martin and Jim Flora, Burt defined jazz album cover art of the 1950s. He also compiled a definitive book on the Newport Jazz Festival.

    He did a lot of covers for the old West Coast jazz albums.

    Next to Herman Leonard, Burt Goldblatt was the best.
