I was listening to Charles Lloyds Hyperion with Higgins this weekend. I was very impressed with Mr. Higgins and decided to check out allmusic.com to see if I had any other recordings of him in my collection.

I didn't expect to find a prolific drummer with such a huge collection of recordings. I'm overwhelmed by the quantity of his recorded output and the musicians he worked with. He's obviously a huge talent and one that's been below my radar for far too long.

I haven't yet counted the number of recordings that I own where he's a member (I wish there was metadata attached to each tune) but started to wonder about his 'greatest hits' and how he became one of the more sought after drummers.

I also did a search of JC and found no threads on Billy. Had to correct this oversight. What were some of his more noteworthy recordings?
