Summer of 2012, Claire Daly Quartet toured the West (including a nerby stop in Santa Cruz) and played the music heard on this CD a short time before this recording was made which is currently on the KSJS playlist.
100% of the proceeds from the project go to the Thelonious Monk Institute.

Thanks for the invitation Mike. It is pretty amazing how much time has gone by.... one might say there was a bit of a dry spell given the years between recordings, but I've been playing a lot the whole time....and from where I sit the path has been pretty continuous. This album is pretty different than anything else I've been involved with as the entire recording is derived from spontaneous improvisations....there are no standard song forms whatsoever even though everything sounds composed.
