    i know even though i haven't heard any of it yet. there's a story about Lionel in the NYT from last sunday, i think. within the last week, i've seen/heard Lionel, Herbie & Wayne!

    About The Album:

    The NYNDK Jazz Collective is a Trans-Atlantic collective bringing together musicians from New York (NY), Norway (N), and Denmark (DK), uniting three places that have significant roles in jazz history. Established in 2003, its founding members are Danish pianist Soren Moller, Norwegian saxophonist Ole Mathisen, and New York trombonist Chris Washburne. Their decision to form this collaborative was inspired by their own experiences of the truly international nature of jazz. Jazz has become a global phenomenon and the NYNDK Jazz Collective embodies this development. NYNDK brings to the mix a combination of refined Scandinavian cool with aggressive New York heat spiced with a progressive post-modern sensibility.

    06/08 we Had Jim Nadel, Founder & Director of Stanford Jazz Workshop & Festival, we did an hour of misc. music fro the impressive array of talent that will perform and teach there

    Well deserved props, BTW!
    I was meaning to drop you a line, but got busy after the show getting home and prepared to head south to the Monterey Jazz Festival.....got home at 'Round Midnight (long jazz filled day).
    It's a mutual admiration society.....I love Joe's artistry and dazzling abilities, and I think he feels pretty comfortable with my interviewing style.

    After our Q&A I played 5 tracks from the new Origin CD, rounding out what turned out to be a nice hour of jazz radio, I thought, as did some of our listeners who called to comment and say thanks.
