Cuban Pianist Awarded in Swiss Jazz Festival

Montreux, Switzerland, Jul 21 (Prensa Latina) Cuban pianist Rolando Luna won the first prize of Swiss international jazz contest "Piano Solo" recently concluded here as part of the 2007 International Jazz Festival, in which he also got the Audience Award.


Luna, 31 years old, overcame 14 contenders in a group previously selected by organizers, with a great performing ability.



Azerbaijan's Sharin Novralis got 2nd place and French Sebastian Cicolella and Austrian Favid Helbock got the 3rd.



Two years ago, another Cuban pianist, Harold Lopez Nussa, won the first prize in the International Montreux Jazz Festival.



Luna was known among Swiss jazz fans when he played as a pianist for an orchestra called CarHabana, at the Geneva Great Casino
