Bix Beiderbecke Memorial Society

The Bix Beiderbecke Memorial Jazz Festival will be held in Davenport, Iowa, July 26th - 29th. All tickets may be ordered in advance at a savings. Call the B.B.M.S. office, (563) 324-7170, or write to B.B.M.S., P.O. Box 3688, Davenport, IA 52808.

Food, refreshments, souvenirs, tapes and CDs are available at the venues. The outdoor venue at LeClaire Park features a food court, an outstanding band shell, bust of Bix and historic plaques, water and restrooms, and a grandstand seat for action on the Mississippi River. Next to the park is moored the President Casino riverboat for those who like to try their luck. There is comfortable seating and endless room for folding chairs and blankets. Those who wish may bring in their own food and refreshments.


There will be ten of the nations top jazz bands alternating at the four venues throughout the festival. Also demonstrating their jazz proficiency will be members of the Bix Jazz Society Youth Band, carriers of the torch for the next generation.
Hotel and motel reservations should be made as soon as possible since the Festival-goers and the Bix-7 runners require considerable space.
More than 300 volunteers perform the myriad tasks required to stage a festival the size and length of the Bix Jazz Festival. More are always needed. If you'd like to help call the B.B.M.S. office, 563-324-7170.


Putting on an annual festival the size of this musical tribute to Bix is tremendously expensive and ticket fees alone cannot begin to sustain it. Continued success is dependent upon grants, sponsors, and donations large and small from Bix fans and supporters. This is a non-profit organization and donations are tax-deductible.
