Robert Wyatt & friends performing "Sea Song" from his classic Rock Bottom album

and, not only for us die-hard fans, 90 minutes of Q & A in London from about a month ago.
Some great stuff in there - interesting & funny - touching on pop, jazz, Hindemith, Hendrix (at length), improvising, musical elitism, stage fright, drinking/not-drinking, Englishness/un-Englishness...

The Osmonds do Santana (and Chicago).

In which we realize to our surprise that a Jay Osmond/Michael Shrieve drum duet might have been more interesting than we might otherwise have thought.

Yeah, it is a lovely tune, isn't it. Glad you enjoyed it, Jesse. Do check out Rock Bottom, one of cornerstones of modern music (well, I think it is). Meanwhile, here's another favourite from that same fine BBC session:

Likewise, I am old, I checked out Rock Bottom upon its release.
I like stretches of Cuckooland, I haven't heard ComicOpera.

Well, likewise! And I heartily recommend ComicOpera. Top 5 RW, and probably his best since 1991's Dondestan.

Rather subdued James. He didn't even threaten to punch anybody. Great rhythm section, and Pat Place's serrated-knife guitar seems completely appropriate.

And now for something completely different.

Steve Earle, solo, obviously wasted, singing Copperhead Road. 1991.

I had never heard of her until I checked out the vids you posted. She's really impressive. Somewhere out beyond Nina Hagen.

Yma Sumac spelled backward is Amy Camus, which was rumored to be her real name, Jewish girl from Brooklyn married to Les Baxter, who composed and produced the exotica. We had a couple of her records when I was a kid.
