Picked it up at the Aston distributor on 452 in Pa., Lenny. Haven't seen it in Delaware.
Yeah, there is a lot of stuff you can't get in Delaware, unfortunately. But between DE and PA we are in good shape. My most regular PA stop is the place on 202 across from Goodwill (the old Spinning Wheels skating rink).
Total Wine in DE has a lot of stuff but they hardly ever get anything new.
My wife is really into Yards Pale Ale now that she tried it at the Phillies game. I only see that in PA. By switching from Fosters to Yards she's suddenly a more expensive date and is dangerously close to discovering that she'd actually like some of the stuff in my stash .
I like the Sly Fox stuff too. I wish I could have tried more of their single hops IPA experiments but I don't run across them. Not sure how many are still available.
Uh-oh. The pressure's on....but i'm confident. Enjoy, Lenny!
You're off the hook, my friend. I bought a case of Lagunitas IPA last week in preparation for a beach week at Sea Isle City, NY. It's great stuff. I'm going to add it to the standard rotation. I bought 4 cases of expensive beer so they took pity on me and gave me this Sam Adams beer glass, which is actually very cool.

Speaking of Lagunitas, just enjoyed some of their Little Sumpin Sumpin ale with my teammates after a vigorous game. A fine, and nicely priced, West Coast IPA (Lenny, nothing to add to your fine description of the style!).
So just when we are a stone's throw away from having the credit cards paid off, I find out that the wife has purchased a Roomba (Robotic vacuum cleaner) and 5 or 6 pair of shoes (they were on clearance, don't you know!).
How does one retaliate? Well, I'll tell ya. You spend $105 on a case of beer (limited release, don't you know!).
The beer store where I bought the Sculpin IPA had gotten in one case of AleSmith IPA just a couple of days prior. Some selfish bastard snatched it already. That would have been $100+ too.

I'm also a Torpedo fan. Reminds me of Dogfish 60 Minute, which is high praise.

Pre tell, what is this IPA I'm seeing mentioned and on the labels?
( he said, ready to say DUH [!!]after getting the answer)
Lenny, what's with "double hoppy" beer? I like my beer bitter, but the so called "double hoppy" beers sometimes seem sweet to me. Is that my imagination?
I'm about to beat a dead horse -Sierra Nevada Torpedo IPA now, but only out of love.
I've recently been drinking Sierra Nevada Torpedo IPA VERY COLD and out of a frosted mug, and when I do, I immediately start thinking that this is the most wonderful thing I could ever experience. (I like it when it isn't ice cold and isn't in a frosted mug, but it isn't nearly as seductive) When I drink an ICED COLD ONE, It's mostly pure pleasure (especially when I drink it outside on a porch on a hot night), but there is a slightly frightening element of it taking control of me.
For a few years I was drinking more than I think I should (an average of 4 drinks every day, maybe) and I'm committed to cutting back, and have done so fairly well.
BUT as soon as I'm halfway into my FIRST ice cold Torpedo, I have to fight back the thought that inevitably occurs at that point: "THIS IS GREAT. THIS IS WHAT I WANT TO DO. IT'S OK IF I HAVE 4".
I have been getting better at fighting off this thought. As my average intake has reduced, the hangovers I get when i overindulge have been worse, which has helped me restrain myself. For 2 straight nights I've stopped at 2, even though I've had more in the fridge.
One beer at a time.

Having only recently sampled SN Torpedo for the first time, I see where the(lil)'s self restraint could easily be broken. That is some mighty fine IPA.
Yes! Pretty good stuff. I first had it 3 years ago, I think, in the Outer Banks. I still had a bottle left over recently and tried it but it wasn't worth a shit. IPAs need to be drank ASAP.

I've had 8 on that list. The one I come back to the most is Stone Ruination IPA. Have you had that? I know you can get Stone so you probably have. It doesn't come across as sweet to me. Pure hoppy goodness.
I've had Pliny the Elder on tap here. I could get it again if I wasn't so damn lazy. There are some good bars around here and things like this can be had. I have had so many chances to get Russian River's Blind Pig IPA on tap and have not gotten my lazy ass out of work in time to have one (in Paoli, PA) or pick up a growler. I must do this.
My problem is that PA sells by the case. I can drive up the road right now and buy 4 or 5 different Russian River brews but they would all be a case of 12 bombers. That's why I got stuck buying the $105 case of Sculpin IPA recently. Good thing I love it. In Delaware I can get 6s and single bombers but less selection.

It really is good shit! I have some now in the beer fridge (fine, I'll post another picture). Look at SN's 30th anniversary stuff. The hoppy one hasn't been released yet but hopefully will soon. It's a mixture of Oak-Aged Bigfoot, Celebration Ale and Fresh Pale Ale.

We just bought some kind of beer-of-the-month present for the people who put us up in Oregon last month. Our version was two champagne-sized bottles of some varying, but unspecified shmancy microbrews very other month for a year.
BTW, the guy took me to one of the McMeniman's (sp?) in Portland where I had a very good sampler of (I think) 8 beers. I liked most of them, some a lot. There was one with berries in it that I was dreading, but it wasn't bad. The place was extremely cool.
I think I could live quite happily in Oregon.

This will do nicely until Sam Adams Octoberfest comes out:
Just picked up a 12-pack of that, and a 1/6 keg of the Sam Adams Octoberfest for the beer cooler yesterday, but I haven't tried either yet. I need to clean the line and the spout on the beer cooler before I can tap the keg, and I didn't touch the Tumblers because they were still warm and I was finishing off a six-pack of this:
In April 2009, the brothers opened a boutique production brewery in Delaware, Evolution Craft Brewing Company. They were intrigued with the artistry in beer and decided that brewing their own beer would be a great new venture.
EVO beer is available on draft and bottle throughout Maryland, Washington D.C. and Delaware. If you can't find us, ask your favorite retailer to order from the distributor for their area on the locate beer page.
New brewery in lower Delaware. Have you tried this yet, Lenny? It's quite good.
