Pretty much. They've also been busy dismantling all of the preventionary laws and regs governing banking and so on in the financial world.

With predictable results. What's happened in the finance world today would not have been possible with those regs and laws still in place.

    Duh.

I'd be more concerned about my pointer and my nuts, but that's not to minimize your spacebar problem.

"Seven years of college down the drain." - Bluto Blutarski

"No no, the college degree is stuffed with absolutely nothing at all.
You get, you get nothing with your college-degree..." - Frank Zappa

Sorry this experience sucked so much Scotty, but why college? Aren't
you pulling in OK beans now?

Shit, I did the "mandatory" college right out of high school. Very good
university and did well though I partied my ass off. And then?

"20 years of schoolin' and they put you on the day shift"

Now, I've been in a downward career spiral the last several years. And
I use the word "career" very loosely here. Been out of a job for over a
year now. I'm looking at shit-ass customer service positions at the moment
just to get some money coming in.

F**k college. If I'd have known then what I know now, I'd have gone
straight into contract killing. Make your own hours, meet people (very briefly...)

On a side note, I heard on the radio this morning that today is the 40th birthday of the Slurpee. Supposedly each 7/11 store is giving away 1000 Slurpees to mark the occasion.

it won't be funny when McCain/Palin slide into the White House. Despite the essence of what he (and countless others) are thinking, that ditzy douchebag and McCain will probably win in November.

Watch when states with 10+ point poll leads for Obama turn red on 11-4.

Listen, the reason I am the happiest and most well-adjusted poster on this board is simple. I have two favorite American political parties, the Republicans are my #1 but the Dems are right there behind them. So in November I am going to hold my nose and vote for the GOP like I promised Satan I always would do, but I'm not going to weep uncontrollably when Barack Obama, who seems to be a substantative enough character, sweeps into office. The Dems have been out of the Oval Office for eight years and it will be good for them to share the responsibilities of government in this complicated era. Mine won't be the vote that makes it a landslide, is all. And anyways, comfortable though I am with the xenophobia and racism that crawjo finds in the national discourse, I've already voted for Obama, in the primaries, as the liberal dictator I would prefer to Hillary. Voting for Obama once might be new and virtuous, but voting for him twice! That'd be like walking into a gay bar for a second time. I mean, maybe the first time you're just curious. Or not "curious" but uh, or maybe you need to use the bathroom. Or maybe you didn't even know it was a gay bar! Yeah. I mean, they have "gay" bars? I never knew that. I wanted a fucking drink like a real fucking man. That's a perversion? I don't think so. Anyway, my point is that I am happy and well-adjusted. WOULD YOU JUST GET OFF MY FUCKING BACK?.

Nothing like driving home broke at 5 am full of self-loathing, grease, salt, and bad meat.
