Man, you must be one abusive son-of-a-bitch to your wife and children.
Do your worst, Jesse. It only proves what a self-involved and loathsome dirtball you are who delights in cheap shots, half-truths and sadistic invective. Talk to me when your shit doesn't stink, you low-life.
I am not going to kowtow to a bully. Certainly not to a bastard like you who takes a perverse pleasure in the merciless vilification of another human being. I sincerely pity anyone who comes in contact with you and your mouth. One day, I would love to be the fly on the wall when all this bullshit comes back home to you.
In short: Fuck you, Jesse.
And I mean that with every fiber of my being.
Now knock it the hell off.
What an ass.

I once again bring your attention to post 753.
Specifically:
"You're preaching to the choir about him.
Less and less people are interacting with him, or responding to his "all about him" threads. Eventually everyone will either put him on ignore or ignore his baits.
There are a lot of knowledgeable and interesting people on this board."
Now....any thoughts on Kentucky or North Carolina?

I'm Irish buddyroo! I wouldn't know which one to fancy - even if I knew what they were doing!
Still, allow me to wish you much entertainment and enjoyment from it.

There's some poetic irony in this line. At once glossing over past denials and, simultaneously, acknowledging the utter inability to do anything to change oneself. Arguably an art form on display here. You could cast such a character in the role of bombastic litigator in a movie or play.

Well, this is what I mean. When this thread started, ever so long ago, people posted memorable quotes from others.
“America’s not a country. It’s just a business. Now pay me my fucking money.”

Who do you see in the role? I am thinking Gary Busey.

How you equate venting anger toward a slimeball so full of himself to the point of justifying abuse is beyond reasonable thought. I am pissed and rightfully so.
Talk to me when it happens to you.

I understand why you're pissed. I'm not sure anything exactly similar has happened to me, so you're correct in that observation as well. You could choose to simply ignore it (no pun intended) instead of turning the whole thing into a shit flinging contest. Probably easier said from my perspective, I know.

Each Day Is A Gift.
Some examples from the past.
These represent some of the types of quotes for which this thread was created many years ago. They weren't mean-spirited, and no invectives were used.
From the thread Discuss the NYC Jazz Scene Here from 1999.

And Charlie Haden boring? Besides being a brilliant bass player he has a wider range of musical encounters in a typical week than Hardbop does in a lifetime.
Note: hardbop (Chris Heaney) hasn't been seen around these parts in a while.

Cower worm folk!
From this thread:
bruce massey
I saw Jarrett in Houston in 1977. The only thing worse that his obnoxious attitude was the saxophone of Jan Garbarek. He was a veritable black hole, all possible emotion was crushed from the sound by the vaccuum that he attempted to pass off as his soul.
I have never heard this sensual instrument played in a manner so devoid of passion in my life. And I pray that it never happens again.

Has quit quitting
I saw Ravi Coltrane in concert last month. Right after he came out on stage, a cell phone rang. Coltrane stopped talking, looked up, and said with a smile: "Good thing this isn't a Keith Jarrett concert."

One of the worst kept secrets is that Jarrett is, shall we say, not one of the most personable human beings. Likewise for the late Buddy Rich. However, as musicians...

This gem from Tom, as he realises that starting a thread called Will you pledge to say nothing bad about Wynton Marsalis for one year? was not exactly the smartest of moves.

There is an advertisement that is currently annoying me. Usually if a commercial has annoyed me in just one way, then it is a spectacular success and I treasure it. But this ad annoys me three ways, so I'm posting about it here. The ad is for paper plates. The first way it annoys me is by the premise. The premise is that we lead complicated, modern lives and it is just too hard to run the dish washer these days, so the solution is paper plates. I'm not a green, but it seems to me that disposable plates are a waste of more than just material, it is a waste of money, not to mention an abuse of the aesthetic senses of your family. And our lives are not that modern and complicated anyway.
Then there are two lines that annoy me, both spoken by spunky moms of the paper plate revolution:
1) "I refuse to be defined by the number of dishes I do."
2) "I deserve a paper plate that is as strong as I am."
As for 1), well dammit, yes. You should refuse to be defined by the number of dishes you do. And unless you're a gold medalist in the kitchen Olympics, I don't see how you possibly can be. As for 2), WTF? I don't know what irritates me more: the irrationality of the comparison between paper plate strength and human strength or the unattractive sense of entitlement. Bullshit you deserve a paper plate as strong as you are. You don't DESERVE a paper plate as strong as you are, you EARN a paper plate as strong as you are.

| Facebook? What's Facebook? Are you suggesting I reconsider my plan to dump my life savings in United States Postal Service stock? No way! I think the concept is nothing short of revolutionary to say the least. You write a letter, lick a stamp, which you can only get from the USPS as those "in the know" call the company, and then drop the letter in a box. In no time at all somebody comes and picks up the letter to deliver it to your house. What's better than that? The USPS is the only company that has stamps and the only company allowed to sell them, so you have to buy 'em from them. You think this punk Zuckerberg could figure out a way to corner the market like that? I don't think so. Kids, what the hell do they know? I'm pretty sure my good buddy Clint is with me on this.
