I forgot that one. Really funny, clever film. In part, a super parody of the perils of music stardom biopics. Reilly was masterful.

It's almost as bad as that other shitty Bill Murray movie that everybody seems to think is funny, endearing, and DEEP.

I think I saw My Cousin Vinny after I started the thread. I'd definitely add it to my list.

Marissa Tomei is one of those actors who are equally great in comic and serious roles.

Totally! I particularly enjoyed his Brian Wilson phase. As you say, very sharply observed stuff.

Yikes Mr. C! I'm detecting a 'no love whatsoever for Wes Anderson, or any of his doings' vibe from you there.

Can I assume the other Bill Murray movie (or BM movie to pander to your dislike ) you refer to is Lost in Translation?

How do you feel about Groundhog Day? That's another film that never fails to give me the warm fuzzies, no matter how many times I've seen - and I'd say 5 or 6 times by now..

    Ah, I see, Mr. C.

I like Wes Anderson, but that movie didn't work for me.

Perhaps my favorite Bill Murray movie - or at least the funniest - is the underrated Quick Change.

I'll have to watch Lost in Translation so I can confirm that I'd hate it.

Stop toying with me, Mikey. I'm still waiting for Sergio's response. I've always been a big Bill Murray fan. He always makes me laugh even when he goes the sophomoric route, which is most of the time. So, what about Bob?

Oh, sorry. Love it, great movie. Murray and Dreyfuss play off each other really well. Objectively, I'd say that it and Groundhog Day are better films than Quick Change, but Quick Change is just so damn funny.

I like that movie too Jimmy.

The reason I came back with "What about Bob?" is that I think that was one of the lines they used a couple of times in the movie (aside from the title, naturally).

I agree...I think if you like the basketball and go back as far as remembering the ABA it's a hoot.

I don't think the Caddy Shack movies are funny, but friends who play golf love them and I never have played.

"Police Squad", with Leslie Neilson as the hapless detective.
This, IMO, was much much better and funnier than "The Naked Gun" films that followed it.

Passable - the first couple of minutes are *Outstanding* though IMO.

Amen to that Patricia! Remember the shoe shine guy he used to go to for tips? One time the guy who goes up after is a priest, and the shoe shine guy starts giving him the low down on God'n'the afterlife and whatnot.

Also, contains - for my money - one of the *funniest lines ever*!
