That's a different thing--you sign up with blogger and follow blogs that use their platform--but I have no idea how the content is delivered.

absolutely. from what I take from the discussions on ollie's blog entries it's usually just aebly and maybe 3 or 4 of the usual suspects.

A feed uses RSS or Atom protocol to display the text either a dedicated feed reader or a my.yahoo type page. From there you can click through to the original blog.
How are you getting the two different blogs or alerts delivered?
I get your Feedblitz alerts via email. With Ollie's blog, I get a little RSS thingy that I click on.

Just got in my Facebook in-box yet another reason why "blogs suck"
Hi friends of the Institute for Southern Studies --
We're about to kick off one of our most exciting projects ever: the Freedom Journalism School -- a pioneering program to train 50 bloggers and citizen journalists across the South with investigative reporting skills.
And we need you to help make it happen -- show your support by joining our Facebook Cause here:
http://apps.facebook.com/causes/causes/360740
Our goal: To create *a community of new media muckrakers* who can expose the powerful interests and their friends in Washington who are standing in the way of health reform and change.
Please join the cause and contribute $25, $50 or whatever you can to get the Freedom Journalism School off the ground -- and create an army of new journalists who can change the South and country!
Thanks!

The moldiest of all figs
I told a friend of mine about Pete's blog. He's a Peruvian who, for many years, managed food service for Hilton, Marriott and Trader Vic's and is a partner in the best Cuban restaurant in these parts.
He was very impressed with Pete's comments on Peruvian food and plans to try Pete's take on Cuban sandwiches.
So, no all blogs suck.
Bright moments - right now!

If he introduces my Cuban-Castilian-Vietnamese sandwich to the restaurant I request he name it "The Pedrito." And if he does, I'll pay a visit.

The moldiest of all figs
I doubt if it will show up on the restaurant menu. Their Cuban sandwich, which is excellent, only goes for $6. I think the Serrano and fancy cheese would jack up the price a bit.

This is a fancy Cuban place and the Cubano is only $6? So let them charge $9 for The Pedrito and see if the market will bear it...

The place isn't all that fancy, but the food is outstanding.
They serve huge portions of a great variety of Cuban food, pork, beef, seafood, and chicken with the price for a full dinner, soup or salad, entree with various forms of plantain, black beans and tres leches cake for $10-15. It even has a decent wine list with Rioja for $6 for a big glass.

This is exactly why political blogs suck: Single-minded adhearence to one perspective on any given issue.
No place for opposing views or an unbiased reporting of germane events relative to their cause.

There is usually a comments section to every post on a blog.

Indeed.
Which further removes the original blog article from the truth of the matter.

Clint, are you referring to Versailles, by any chance? We always manage to visit their restaurant in Encino when visiting California. Fine, simple food and more-than-ample portions at excellent prices.

Luckily, I never accept freebies (except the time I accepted a 6-pack of flavored water for further experiments with non-alcoholic gin).

Non-alcholic gin is a vile and utterly reprehensible concept Mr. C! For shame, sir, for shame...

Hmmm... whilst undoubtedly two deserving, and 'in need of any small crumbs of comfort they can get' demographics, i still have grave misgivings. Having said that, i also despise the very notion of caffeine-free coffee, and alcohol-free beer. If that makes me a misanthrope, then i am proud to be so.
Bah, and indeed, humbug!

Don't be a dork, Rollie.
Once again, you are at cross purposes and once again you are comparing apples to oranges to make your weak if not wholly inaccurate point about blogs.
I never said people aren't allowed an opinion. What I have said and will continue to repeat until you get it: Political blogs are the opinion and inherent biases of the authors or sponsored website which pander to like-minded individuals who accept upon face value their questionable validity. I am an individual, not a blog. Nor do I get paid for my opinions.
Break this down for Paul...I do enough remediation during the work week.
