    Paging Doctor Terri Lyne Carrington!

Terri Lyne received her Honorary Doctorate at Berklee this evening. She made an incredibly moving speech - full of spirituality, consciousness, humility and gratitude. And she played her ass off as usual (with amazingly talented students, teachers, her fellow honoree Makoto Ozone and also with Gary Burton. It was a fabulous evening!

    Congratulations Doctor Carrington!

Me, too, HP!! But, let's remember that they usually bestow this honor on much older folks. Terri isn't even 40 yet. I think I first saw/heard her play when she was maybe 11! It was a glorious evening.

    Best,

    Valerie
