Hatred of the democratic process (love of gerbils)

(it's the hatred that brought you in, but the gerbils will make you stay...)

OK, so there are a ton of you guys/gals who hate Bush…despise him and everyone in his cabinet. Loathe his monkey façade and horrible grammar. What next? Hatred can be a good motivator, but how are you using this to your advantage to make Inauguration Day 2005 a happy, sunshine (Democratic/Liberal/Green) day?

Are there certain avenues that you as an anti-Republican are pursuing to help get the right person elected? Feeling fed-up with the process and looking for some guidelines or suggestions on how to get your candidate back on track in your sphere of influence? What the hell is your sphere of influence anyway and how do you make the most of it??

And for you Repubs out there…how do you make sure that Georgie boy stays on top of the heap?

I'm not exactly sure what you're attempting to stir up with this thread,
but I find your JC "handle" offensive by implication ..
the arrangers best friend is his pencil .. the end with the rubber on it ( E.K.Ellington )

Aw geez, gray. Did you have to use the 'o' word? I can already hear Bluenoter warming up.....

And am I missing something? What is supposed to be offensive about his JC name?

Don't worry, Scott. I'm not wearing my whalebone corset, and I'm chillin'. Besides, I don't get it either.

Oh, wait--maybe I do. I think that "bbrook" refers to Bob Brookmeyer. His days as an active poster are before my time.

Nope, sorry not offensive in the least (unless you consider a perverse obsession with early '80's Prince music offensive). Now, offended on the other hand....nope, not that either.

All I'm trying to find out is what kind of political actions all of you peeps take after bitching about the current administration so much. I despise Bush as much as the next guy, although probably not as much as ChrisA, but feel worthless in getting the "right" person elected. Wanted to see what others are doing (i.e. fundraising, dog walking, gerbil stuffing, ballot making, etc.) to be more active rather than sit in front of a computer and complain.

And as for the Repubs on the board, wanted to see if they are active in keeping their man on the throne (and probably behind bulletproof glass if he makes it past 2004).

"Peeps" reminds me too much of a poster from the BNBB board (I guess using board after BNBB is redundant, but oh well). Some of you may remember ol' Softsong herself.

Besides, it is clear to me that "bbrooksux" is a (thinly) veiled reference to Dr. Charles Benbrook and a slam on his alternate methods of growing Bt corn. "bbrook" was one of Benbrook's nickname in his social circles. Bbrooksux is clearly of the traditionalist farmer mindset, and we need to take this into consideration when viewing his/her posts.

By the way, if this article fascinated you, be sure to read the thread "Terminator Chicken".

I don't have any new ideas. I'm an intellectually bankrupt pseudo-intellectual. I don't hate George Bush; I feel sorry for him. He thought being President would be fun, but it has't turned out that way. What needs to be done (repeal some tax cuts, make nice to the UN, restore the Clean Air Act, etc.) has been widely retailed elsewhere. It's pretty obvious stuff.

The main thing is to get George Bush out of the White House and into his new job--the one he wanted in the first place--as Commissioner of Baseball. I'm sure he'll do well at it.
