    Rollie's boy finally comes clean.

I don't understand why people lie so much, especially public figures such as Edwards. The truth is going to come out at some point and you're going to look twice as bad for lying about it. Why not fess up and get it over with?

John Edwards admits he fathered child with mistress

NEW: "I am Quinn's father," ex-Sen. John Edwards says in statement

Edwards previously denied that he fathered a child with another woman

Edwards earlier admitted having an affair with Rielle Hunter during 2008 campaign

"I am truly sorry," ex-Democratic presidential candidate says

Washington (CNN) -- Former U.S. Sen. John Edwards of North Carolina has admitted that he fathered a girl with his mistress.

"I will do everything in my power to provide her with the love and support she deserves," Edwards said in a statement.

The former 2008 Democratic presidential candidate previously denied that he was the girl's father.

"It was wrong for me ever to deny she was my daughter and hopefully one day, when she understands, she will forgive me," Edwards said.

"To all those I have disappointed and hurt, these words will never be enough, but I am truly sorry."

Edwards earlier admitted that he had an affair with Rielle Hunter while he was campaigning for the Democratic presidential nomination.

Edwards' campaign paid Hunter $114,000 to make a series of short videos about his presidential campaign, and she traveled extensively with the candidate's entourage.

Hunter gave birth in February 2008 to a baby girl. She is widely reported to have named the girl Quinn.

Edwards denied that he was the girl's father for more than a year, saying the affair was over before Hunter became pregnant.

    Now he has admitted it.

"I am Quinn's father," his statement said. "I have been able to spend time with her during the past year and trust that future efforts to show her the love and affection she deserves can be done privately and in peace.

"I have been providing financial support for Quinn and have reached an agreement with her mother to continue providing support in the future."

The media is really taking Edwards to task these days, eighteen to twenty-four months after it could possibly matter. That new book, Game Change, is stunning. Imagine if the free press, our guardians of democracy, had done that reporting during the election. Instead, I recall front page smears of John McCain in the New York Times.

Q: 'How do you start free improvising?'
A: 'Well I usually start on D as a matter of fact'

"I wandered alone in the desert and cried "Oh Lord! Oh Lord! What hast thou done, lately?"

"Thought is not a saffron-robed monk pissing in the snow"

It has been a very interesting week. The White House has hit the reset button. You remember the reset button. Hillary Clinton unveiled it in Moscow when she announced a new start on Russo-American relations, to no obvious effect. Then I think the reset button was also hit on Tehran. Now the White House is pounding on the thing for its own sake, calling a reset on its whole agenda after only a year. Now they are anti-Wall Street angry populists. Healthcare reform? Fuggedabouddit. Good luck.

Very good rollie! The 'sheesh enjoyed that very much (whilst marvelling to himself at the vagaries of the U.S. culture, let alone wondering what the fuck is with the political thang).

In the true spirit of democracy, let me say - Balls for All!

I guess former Sen. Joe Biden, D- Bank of America, won't be having his son represent the Delaware-based credit card industry in the Senate.

    From the NYT:

Updated In more bad political news for Congressional Democrats, Beau Biden, the vice president’s son and the party’s top choice for a Senate candidacy in Delaware, announced to his backers this morning that he would not seek the Senate seat vacated by his father, Joseph R. Biden Jr., last year.

Another fake Democrat says he isn't running. I suppose he got a better offer to work directly for the corporations he was serving in the Senate:

Democratic Sen. Evan Bayh of Indiana Will Not Seek Re-election

Mr. Bayh will announce his decision in a press conference at
2 p.m. on Monday, an aide confirmed.

My guess is he'll take a job as "of counsel" for some law firm with a big K Street presence.

Bayh's out, too? Incredible. Another Democrat dynasty goes kaput--the second one in a week, since Patrick Kennedy ended his family's long seige on Washington. Somebody call Jesse Jackson Jr, 'cause this is getting serious.

Yeah, next thing you know three maybe even four Democrats will be out of office.

But with all the conservative corporate money flowing in to federal republican candidate's campaigns, they can lie their way back into power once again, huh.

Jesse Jr. isn't finished milking the political system yet.

Bayh figured he'd topped out in politics, and wants to start cashing in on it now, before everyone else realizes he is a has been.

more stupidity from the dimwit. banking and big law firm money owned Bayh, too. Goldman Sachs was his second biggest contributor after a law firm with deep pockets.

But I know, facts are irrelevant to you, GasBag.

So you equate where the money comes from as to "ownership" of a given candidate? I see.

By transference, all money comes from banks, RollGag. So in effect all politicians are "owned" by the banks. In fact, every American with a checking or savings account gets their money from the banks, too. OH MY GOD! I think you're on to a grand conspiracy here, RollGag!

He does have all of his money invested in it.

Of course, it's merely a coincidence...

If you remember correctly Sergeant Rollie also believes that Andrea Mitchell is not a flamming liberal since she is married to Alan Greenspan. Just like James Carville and Mary Matalin have the same political fantasies since they are married.

This kind of logic reminds me of that master of logic and reason Rocky Balboa in the first Rocky movie:

"You hang around with nice people then you have nice friends. You hang around smart people then you have smart friends. You hang around yo-yo people you end up with yo-you friends. It's simple mathematics"..

    Read it and weep, RollGag:

Bayh, a two-term Democrat from Indiana, said Monday that he wouldn't seek re-election this fall, despite double-digit leads over his Republican rivals, because he was fed up with Congress. He kept firing away at Congress on Tuesday, telling ABC News that it suffers from "brain-dead partisanship" and "tactical maneuvering for short-term advantage."

Tonight, PBS again aired the brilliant Frontline piece on how the Democratic Clinton Administration, along with Alan Greenspan, brought about the greatest financial meltdown since the Great Depression.

    http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontl...ource=bigimage

But now two of them, Larry Summers and Timothy Geithner are back in charge, when they both, along with Robert Rubin and Arthur Levitt, should be in jail.

And you believe that Andrea Mitchell is a flamming (sic) liberal because she happens to be a journalist.

You can't cite one scintilla of evidence that shows that she is a "flamming" liberal.

Again, you right wingnuts believe that facts are biased and anyone who cites facts is a de facto liberal.

So, in your befuddled view of the world, ALL journalists are liberals.

Just as a biologist, who cites evidence of evolution, is a "liberal" because you prefer your fairy tale version of life.

yet more stupidity from the dimwit. According to your "logic," if Republicans get corporate money then it is bad. But if Democrats get corporate money it is good.

Bayh quit because he was fed up with the log jam in Congress.

Now how you equate that with corporate money is astoundingly simple minded.
