    Where is Donald Brown?

Does anyone have current information on pianist Donald Brown? Recently pulled out some of his Muse CDs and realized I hadn't hear anything from him in a long time. Is he teaching somewhere.

Don't know about his general whereabouts but he is scheduled to play with Douglas Ewart's group in the upcoming vision fest.

I think this was discussed here or somewhere not too long ago... If I recall correctly he's based in Knoxville, Tennessee, teaching and playing in the area but getting out from time to time. He's played Paris a couple of times in the past few years, so he hasn't dropped entirely out of sight.

Uli, you're thinking about Donald Smith, who used to play piano with Oliver Lake and others. Lately with Salim Washington's groups. Donald Brown is the old Jazz Messengers pianist who went on to do some records as a leader.

Steve, why don't you peruse Donald Brown's MySpace, space. Maybe you'll be able to glean some information that will answer your questions.
