Chris Botti "In Boston" - a little something for everyone
I'm a huge fan of Chris Botti, and wanted to share the great news that he released an album, "In Boston"!!! if you don't know already, the album is a collective work of tracks involving the talents of famous artists (Sting, Yo-Yo Ma, Dominic Miller...and more!) Botti is an awesome trumpet player and the album provides a little something for everyone - serious jazz, popera, classical music, American songbook, and rock. not bad! i listened to all of them at the place I found out about the album --> http://www.iheartmusic.com/cc-common...=chrisbotti_sa
I recommend downloading "Seven Days" and "If I Ever Lose My Faith In You".
Hope at least someone's interested as much as I am!! =) Thanks for reading

It's the new darling of the PBS fund raisers.
Several portions of the concert are being shown by PBS stations who are hawking the CD's & DVD's as sign-up prizes....even Q&A with Botti during the breaks on the one I watched parts of, which was mostly a snooze fest, at least to me.
I do understand it's appeal though, as I have a number of friends and acquaintances who like Botti a lot, as he satisfies some kind of acceptance of jazz in thier lives, without any threat that it might be 'too intense.'

I'm the face.
He actually acquits himself pretty well in these collaborations with Bill Bruford, Tony Levin, and David Torn, but they're definitely an anomaly in his catalog.

What the heck is "popera"
Is that the stuff that my wife made me put on our trout a few days ago?
