I'm elated to announce a couple of rare Curtis Clark concerts in Dallas and Austin. Mr. Clark lived in Amsterdam for about 2 decades and recently moved back to the US. Not a lot has been heard on these shores from this great and legendary pianist in recent years, although his resume reads like a Who's Who, having played with Julian Priester, Reggie Workman, David Murray, Louis Moholo, and others too many to mention. He will be playing three gigs in Texas and has asked my boys to work in his trio.
So, Curtis Clark (piano); Aaron Gonzalez (contrabass); Stefan Gonzalez (drums)...On Friday Night, May 1, 2009, 8 pm a free concert
event in Dallas, at the South Dallas Cultural Center, which is located
just south of Fair Park - 3400 S. Fitzhugh Ave., 75210.
Please come and share a joyous evening of great music to help the South
Dallas Cultural Center kick off Black Men's Month with some beautiful jazz.
And then, Saturday May 2nd, at the Long Center for the Arts, 701 W. Riverside Dr., in Austin at 7 PM.
