Sarah Palin, Doofus of the Week
She's not even worthy of being a piehole. Just a doofus, plain and simple.
From the Daily News:
Sarah Palin said "we told ya so" to President Obama on Monday night, claiming his spending polices to revive the economy were leading America to socialism.
"When you consider that the federal government is about $11 million in debt, and we're borrowing more to spend more ... it defies any sensible economic policy any of us ever learned through college," the former Republican vice presidential candidate told Sean Hannity in a Fox News interview.
"It defies economy practices and principles that tell ya 'you gotta quit digging that hole when you are in that financial hole.'"
Her comments came as the White House acknowledged it has spent only $44 billion, or 5 percent, of the $787 billion stimulus so far - a total that has always been expected to rise sharply this summer.
Palin, the governor of Alaska and one of the most popular elected Republican officials, went on to rail against the government takeover of the auto industry.
"We're borrowing from China and we consider that now we own 60% of General Motors - or the U.S. government does… But who is the U.S. government becoming more indebted to? It's China. So that leads you to have to ask who is really going to own our car industry than in America."
After a little prompting from Hannity, Palin then made the "I told ya" so comment.
Asked if America was headed toward "socialism," Palin replied "If we keep going down these roads nationalizing many of our services, our projects, our businesses, yes that's where we would head."
But she acknowledge that during the campaign "maybe we didn't have a good way of expressing that, or articulating that message."
At one point Palin described Obama as "a very nice man," but warned voters to "pay attention to his policies."
She was more effusive about her visit here last weekend.
"It was spectacular," she gushed, "seeing all those happy faces in New York."
Palin spent part of the interview repeating the Republican mantra: more off-shore drilling, less government and a lot less spending.
She defended her veto of $28.56 million in federal energy aid on the grounds that it would have committed her to advocating energy efficiency and adoption of building codes in Alaska communities. She said she did accept money for infrastructure projects.
Alaskan legislators are deciding whether to override Palin's veto.

Calling attention to Palin's intellectual deficiencies is like remarking on the rising of the sun.
“America’s not a country. It’s just a business. Now pay me my fucking money.”

No comment on Palin. Everyone here should know my stance already.

I am still trying to figure out RBS's political taxonomy.
Is doofus a family, genus or species? I am thinking that doofus is a genus, with piehole being a species of doofus.

This is a very good question and one well worth answering.
In modern biological taxonomy, you find the following structure (although changes may occur at any moment, according to Darwin's "Survival of the Fittest" theory):
Jackass is an Order
Doofus is indeed a Genus
And Piehole is a species of Doofus!
You are well-versed in taxonomy and have received an A.
Congratulations!

Eye Candy
I'm sure we have at least one foot fetishist here who's been dreaming that a sideshow with closeups of Sarah's feet would emerge.
Enjoy. But DON'T involve a noose. Big or small.

Well, if you consider Palin is described as "the governor of Alaska and one of the most popular elected Republican officials", we had better keep reminding people of her lack of intelligence.
The sad part is this country is filled with political dimwits who would vote for her again and in a heart beat.
If that doesn't keep you up at night, nothing will.

That's your problem right there because a doofus is the opposite of a genus. A genus is really smart, like Einstein.

You're both wrong; it's a taxonomic rank.

Ron: don't have the opportunity to log in often enough. You are the only one in the world (via the web) that I know that lives in Alaska. Please, a short paragraph re: SP. Please.

We actually have two Alaskans on JC, Ron, of course, and Bruce Massey, who doubtless has an opinion of their governor as well.

Each Day Is A Gift.
Don't let the door hit you on the way out!
Palin's resignation came as a complete shock to most of us living in Alaska, including most of Palin's staff.
We expect some serious doo-doo to hit a large fan soon.
Watch this video if you dare and listen to the awful analogy made between her basketball prowess and that of being a smart almost ex-governor. Hilarious.
Note the family plane on floats in the background.
Lt. Gov. Sean Parnell will likely keep the same policies and agendas active unless he suddenly changes his stripes.

She punked out on Alaska....now what would she have done as the Vice President of America?
She is dumb and she has no stay-power.
Yet the republicans still continue the hate on Democrats...it is an amazing thing.

Tim, with all due respect, Palin would have had far less effect on this nation as vice president than as governor of Alaska.

Not if she quit at the first sign of trouble.
She is a National embarrassment; George Bush in heels.
As VP, she'd be a World Wide embarrassment.

This is a quote from Palin's speech:
"Many just accept that lame duck status and they hit that road. They draw a paycheck. They kind of milk it. And I'm not going to put Alaska through that."

Um.
Huh?
So...basically, she quit before her term is up because, uh...what again?
[insert the sound of a cuckoo clock]

We are the only reality
So, is Palin saying that once the excitement of running for office and winning the office for which she ran, the Governorship of Alaska, to serve the full term of four years makes her a "lame duck"?
At what point, after being elected to their first term, does the Governor stop being relevant and start being a "lame duck"?
The job is not the campaigning, it is actually governing.
I wonder at what point Palin realized that she had reached her level of incompetence?

Rubbage was once a respectable word, and not merely a splicing of synonyms.
I thought she sounded out of it, too, although it may just have been the anxious ramblings of somebody with not much to say who is used to getting a lot of attention when she talks.

But I guess it's all the same, eh?

Sadly, I don't think she has.
Besides, who needs all that pesky governing stuff, anyway?
[OMG! You mean I have actually be in Alaska and run this place? That is just SO not me.]

I was only half kidding--she did not sound sober, but not drunk either--very sped up and weirder than usual.
