We have had an amazingly cool summer. We're halfway thru July and have had two days above 90 degrees. The norm is every day above 90 degrees beginning in June.

It's a scorching 76° and sunny, thank you. The sun will "set" at about 11:15 tonight, rising again before 5:00 am tomorrow.

What is the humidity like there, Monte?
Ours is around 10-20%.

The humidity is what kills this place. I dunno, maybe it is about 400%? This one time I was at a book shop out in Seattle (where they have gorgeous weather, don't believe the hype) and I saw a guy lugging around all these guidebooks to Washington DC. I said, "Hey, I'm from there. Are you planning a trip?" He says, "Yes! We're thinking of going in August. You don't think it will be too hot and humid then, do you?" I was like, "Uh...yeah, better pack a sweater."

This has been coolest wettest summer of my life, I think. I'm not complaining though, I hate the high heat and humidity usual for this time of year. The local flies and whatever flying annoyances have gone nuclear out here. Venturing outside is like walking through a war zone like some gallumping Gulliver.

I have a second cat living on my porch. If I leave the remains of his wet food out there for three minutes after he's done with it, the flies have laid maggots in the bowl. Maggots are really sticky, too. I have to rinse it outside with the hose. Nothing could be more vile.

Reevaluating @ 500k
I think I've used my AC maybe 4 times this year, and this is the first day I set it on timer (it's a hot, muggy day in NYC). Luckily I was in sunny London the wettest week in NY last month.

We had a relatively cool June...in the 80s. But July has more than made up for it: High 90s and triple digits all month.
Projected high today is 108; low 71. With bad air quality.
We have to run the AC 24-7 this time of year. Ugh.

groover and I share the same weather.
I finally needed to put the air conditioning on yesterday after a long run with no heat or A/C. Prior to that I only needed it twice (once in the April heat wave).
