    12 Song Playlist

I usually make up a new one each week to feature between the called or cued dances, for free dancing and listening.

Feel free to join in, make up your own playlist for an occasion real or imaginary.

Here's mine to start at tomorrow night's dance. These won't follow each other like a radio playlist, but will rather fill in the spaces in the dance here and there and before and after.

Brush Up Your Shakespeare -- Kiss Me Kate

    Birdland -- Weather Report

Chain Of Fools -- Aretha Franklin

Ay Te Dejo En San Antonio -- Flaco Jimenez

I'll Never Find Another You -- The Seekers

Quarter To Three -- Gary U.S. Bonds

La Murga Panamena -- Willie Colon & Hector Lavoe

Spirit In The Sky -- Norman Greenbaum

All My Exes Live In Texas -- George Strait

    Jelly Roll -- Charles Mingus

He Will Break Your Heart -- Jerry Butler & The Impressions

And Peggy Lee's I've Got Them Feelin' Too Good Today Blues gets a ride here for a rare second consecutive week

Nice. If I still lived in the Bay Area, I would be sure and do my dancing at your place this weekend.

    Mostly Memphis

At badongo.com, you'll see the same playlist with four little player buttons at the bottom right---back, play/stop, forward, and volume. You'll probably need to use that volume button in conjunction with the volume control on your computer. The playlist will (theoretically) play straight through, but you can click on any song to play it. If a song won't play after a minute or so, please click on a different song.

    Excellent, Rita!

I love that you can actually play yours. Is BADONGO free, subscription, non-geek friendly?

Here's this week's list. I never strictly adhere to it. This week I've been doing the singing call to Dylan's You Ain't Going Nowhere, and most nights I've followed it with The Boids voision.

    ******

Sam Cooke -- Exactly Like You

Josh Turner -- Why Don't We Just Dance

Ron Holden -- Love You So

Carolina Cotton -- Yodel Yodel Yodel

What Kind Of Love Is This -- Joey Dee And The Starlighters

Martha & The Vandellas -- Honey Chile

Danny & The Juniors -- Sometimes When I'm All Alone

    Capitols -- Cool Jerk

    Lucinda Williams -- Jackson

Kay Starr -- The Man With The Bag

Thurston Harris & The Sharps -- Little Bitty Pretty One

Meade Lux Lewis -- Bush Street Boogie

    Steve---

Thanks. That your choices are excellent (as far as I can tell), I take as a given!

Via badongo.com, one can even embed a playlist-loaded player here. The catch? The player that one can embed is obnoxious. I don't even want to post it to show y'all.

Let me look over badongo.com again ASAP before I answer your questions about it.

Badongo is a file-hosting site, and technically not "legal" for publicly sharing music. Lala is kosher.

No one can download a playlist stored at badongo except the person who uploaded it. Nor can anyone search for songs uploaded by others there; it's not a "sharing" site. Only people to whom I've given the link to my badongo playlist can listen to it (or even see it) there. Also, songs are not for sale at or through badongo.

Doesn't all that take care of the legality? In several online references to badongo, I found nothing stating that it isn't kosher.

If badongo isn't paying license fees for streaming music, then someone else's listening to your files via badongo is illegal.

Vince is correct. You've just made your playlist available for free to anybody who sees this thread and there are no licensing or royalty arrangements for that music.

Also, one CAN search for files hosted on sites like badongo, rapidshare, etc.:

How does that support your belief that sharing your playlist is legal?
