I just got this disc in the mail from Ayler yesterday and thought I'd drop in to say how great it is! I'm on my second spin this morning. Wonderful music, and it's a very nice-sounding recording, as well.

Thanks, Rob, for the good word! Ayler and I appreciate the patronage. We're pretty excited that Ayler stepped up to the plate yet again and put it out so quickly.

For a living room recording (and two live tracks in a big boomy room) it is pretty amazing sounding, ain't it?

We're hoping to begin work in a few weeks on a new recording with the newly resurrected Alvin Fielder! Yay!

Yes, thanks Rob for the very kind words! Dennis and gang are solely responsible for the very good sounding. Only credit here would be my love for the guys and their music, which comes from the bottom of my heart, and thus deserves no credit, makes me happy that's all.
New recording, Dennis? Hmmm, sounds intriguing...

I've been missing these whereabouts. *sigh* But I guess one can't do everything at once, and this whole dealing with 3 or 4 'lives' (design/rent money + music smuggling + volunteer work here and there + family/cats - yes, 4, that's it) at the same time, MIGHT BE a little over my capabilities.
Ron, if you read this, your last email is not forgotten. Will reply, will deal with the request. Take care, all.

Can't wait to hear Cape of Storms and the prospect of an Alvin Fielder recording is interesting to say the least.

There are sometimes delays like this for no discernable reason. I once had to wait over a month for a mouthpiece shipped from Chicago, it arrived with no issues and no explanation. A bit scary after having paid someone, who I didn't know, prior to shipping. In your case I have no worries.

Thanks, jaka. No problem. I know that you're always juggling several different things at once.

Four days with Alvin Fielder sounds tremendous ... more than intriguing, Dennis!

Heh heh, I missed this post back in July. The problem is that I'm more soulless than funky, truth in advertising and all that... And while I have had my blackberry in my mouth I don't think it's affected my breath.

Exciting musical developments coming up from Dennis, I hope there will be recordings.

Strains of The Doxology, which are very familiar to me as a former Methodist choir member, under the able direction of my late mother-in-law, also church organist.

    Tasteful, creative video.

Hey Dennis, I received the CD just recently and have listened to it several times now. It is a great set of recordings. As always I will try to put my meagre writing skills to work with a review.

Hey Dennis, it definitely is different (a good different ).

I wasn't sure what to expect at first with all of the strings involved but it works very well.

    Outstanding video Dennis!!!

There must have been some pretty complicated conductions that brought that section together at the tail end of the tenor solo, it worked beautifully. What a rocking group.
