Amy Winehouse RIP
Found dead in her apartment at age 27. Dead pools have to be paying out big on this. Great voice and sense of R&B; everything else was pretty much a trainwreck.

Yup. She made pretty tolerable music, from what I have heard.

'Some Unholy War' is a favorite song of mine, always felt she had a great record in her waiting to be made, ain't happening now.

Each Day Is A Gift.
Amy simply had it . This video (among others) clearly shows the remarkable, natural qualities she possessed.
Interesting to see her pre-beehive, too. Not bad to be featured in front of Jools Holland's Orchestra at her tender young age ... barely 21.

Peace and Light!
I always believed that her personal issues got in the way of her great talent. Someone strong needed to guide her. She "coulda been a contender."

There is a song I heard her sing in one of her concerts called "Valerie." Ever since she passed away the song has been stuck in my head. If you have Palladia on cable or dish look for this concert because it is really, really good.
Big talent lost.

"Coulda been" is what makes it so much sadder in her case. Robert Johnson, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, and Kurt Cobain all left us at 27, but not after making their marks for posterity. With Amy, all we can do is think of what might have been.

Reevaluating @ 500k
But one might say of Joplin that her reputation exceeds her.

I don't think this song demonstrates Amy's talent all that well, but she's just so damned lovable.
