Game On
I'm A Grandfather!!!!
At 10:50 am young Siddarth Vincent Chadha, son of Vineet and my daughter Heather, entered the world in NYC. Mrs H is in NYC having broken all land speed records on US Rt. 80 and I'm at home dogsitting and staying out of the way and will visit subsequently. I wanted to bring this up because there are people who post here that I don't have an easy way to communicate this to otherwise. I know that Valerie, Cookie and Hornplayer were with the new parents at Pete's hang in Chinatown during the 2005 Vision Fest; and Pete has been at at least 2 other events with Heather other than that. Plus there are other people that I don't have current emails for and this is just an easy way to inform people.
As I think I've said before, I don't like posting personal information for a number of reasons but I'm making an exception for this; and it's only partially related to getting the word out. Sisco began a thread after Lois deleted one about a highly disturbing situation that I think everybody involved has acquitted themselves well in discussing. I've been highly critical of some of the non-music discussion here previously but I wish to give high praise to all in what is an extremely difficult thing to come to grips with. I've written a number of things on that thread and subsequently erased them before posting because it is so difficult to say what I wanted to say. But it has bothered me a great deal, as I'm sure it has other people. And I wanted to post this as something that made me feel good about life and momentarily put that discussion aside; or at least in a different perspective.

Each Day Is A Gift.
Congratulations to you and your entire family on this joyous occasion, Captain!
It's impossible to anticipate, let alone describe to others, the extraordinary feeling of becoming and being a grandparent. It's an absolutely delicious experience, and one that Patti and I have enjoyed (X four) for over 18 years now.
Enjoy.

We are the only reality
Woo Hoo!!! Good stuff, CH. Congratulations! Grandparenting has all the fun and none of the work we parents all remember. Heaven.

Reevaluating @ 500k
Congrats, Cap. I've met Heather several times and Vineet at least once, at Katz's. Based on what I've seen of the gene pools, the kid should grow up to be a ladykiller.

Congratulations, Captain H and welcome to the wonderful world of grand parenting. A world in which you can play with your grandchild and when you've had enough you hand him/her back to the parents and get the hell outta there.
When my first granddaughter was born my daughter asked me what I wanted BG to call me (The grand parents got to pick out their preferred names). I told my daughter that BG and any future grandchildren (Chelsea came along a couple of years later) should address me as Mr. Cantiello. The look on my daughter's face was priceless. We settled on Pops. Enjoy Siddarth but try not to spoil him too much.
