Two more Giuseppi Logan albums coming soon

Our Kickstarter campaign was very successful and we're in the vinyl pressing process for the Giuseppi Logan Project record and I've been contracted to do two more records in June. One for ESP Disk and another for a label in France. Really looking forward to it. Giuseppi is in rehearsals, has written new tunes and has been playing better every day. Thanks to all the wonderful, big hearted people out there who still believe.

(The vinyl is a very limited edition that will be available in numbered units for Record Store Day Nov. 23rd for those who didn't get one during the Kickstarter campaign but there won't be that many around. Only 500 pressed. CD's coming soon too.)

Looks like we're recording only one record next week. ESP dropped out (they say they have no $$ to pay the musicians and studio) but we will make the solo record for the French label. The new tunes Giuseppi's written, which are among the best I've heard in a while (one on piano!), will have to be recorded with his group some time in the near future I hope. The solo record will mainly be improvised.

Well, we did it. Another Giuseppi record in the can and I must say, this could be his best record yet including his 60's work. He was on fire. Maybe all the renewed attention he's been getting has sparked something in him but he was playing with vigor and muscularity I hadn't seen before from him. Really mind blowing. No bad takes which means I have the tough decision of deciding what has to go. Should be out early next year on Improvising Beings label from France.

Got the test pressings of the vinyl for the first Giuseppi Logan Project LP's. Sound damn good. Should take another three weeks for the printed LP's but we get CD's this week. LP's will be available exclusively at 4 retail shops, two in NYC and two in Nashville on Record Store Day Nov. 23rd (or from us directly via the website). Second Giuseppi record, entitled "...and they were cool" will be out in Dec. on Improvising Beings out of France but we can take orders for the U.S. release. That record features Jessica Lurie, Larry Roland and myself with GL.
