    red sea jazz festival

    http://www.redseajazzeilat.com/en/

I found this year's program disapointing, I need at least one or two must-see artists (for me) to decide to go to the festival. Is it a mistake skipping this festival? here's the line-up:

    Richard Bona Mandekan Cubano
    Kenny Garrett Quintet
    Geri Allen & Time Line
    Christian McBride Trio
    Sean Jones Quintet
    Carmen Souza Quartet
    Craig Adams
Gilad Hekselman Quartet Feat. Mark Turner
    Minvielle / Suarez / Dufour
Yes (jazz trio, not the prog rock band)

dazz, I certainly don't know your tastes in music, but I could readily find more than enough in that lineup to satisfy my needs. Must-see doesn't dictate or direct my live music choices. I'll seriously consider attending if they're competent and interesting artists, and if, a)I'm close to the venue, and, b)the price is reasonable/manageable. Even if I've seen them perform before.

Bona's new group sounds very intriguing, kind of picking up where the Buena Vista Social Club left off. Here's a video clip for a Blue Note Japan gig promo.

Christian McBride's new young trio would have my attention, too.

Gilad Hekselman Quartet featuring Mark Turner

I wouldn't skip this festival if the price was right.

It depends how far you will have to travel and how much you will have to spend in comparison to your financial situation.
