BTW, please understand that Steve and Eric can't really comment too much on the situation.

Each Day Is A Gift.
You may have heard Steve's last show, Valerie. I certainly hope not.
I missed it because Patti and I were hangin' with our dear friend, drummer Danny Gottlieb, who was here in conjunction with Gary Sinise and the Lt. Dan Band USO Tour. It was a sweet reunion after 25 years. Among other things, we talked about jazz, Boston, WGBH, Berklee, etc. He was very troubled about the decision to remove most of the jazz programming from the airwaves on WGBH.

Steve wrote this on his Facebook page....class all the way!
It would be impossible for me to thank each and every one of you, thousands of you, for your love and support over what has recently taken place at WGBH regarding jazz programming. The petitions, the messages on Facebook, the emails and tel...ephone calls to me and to WGBH Managment. They have made me feel great about what I have accomplished on the radio over the past almost 30 years.
Unfortunately, they will make that move. In my last meeting, yesterday, with WGBH Management I was told that my last radio program will be on Friday, July 6th, starting at 9p-12a.
It has been an honor and a privilege to be on the radio playing music and Producing live broadcasts for all these years. Please continue to support the local Boston jazz scene. Go out to the clubs. Buy CDs and downloads. Continue to tune in to Eric Jackson on Fri-Sun, 9p-midnight. Jazz inBoston needs to survive. You can make it happen!
Thanks for listening!
