You're right. Sometimes I have to pinch the screen to get it to scroll.
Having spent some time here on the iPad I can tell you this is one of the least "optimized for mobile" bulletin boards there is. Can even cut-n-paste.
The zoom part on Kindle also solved the landscape issue. But I suspect no attention has been given to optimizing the site to tablets yet.
