The "Let's Pile on Donald Trump for being the World's Biggest Asshole" Thread
I thought it was time for a feel good thread!
He's getting a lot of attention today for his tweet last night saying that Obama's victory- despite losing the popular vote - meant that it is time for a revolution.
It reminds me of when he issued a statement following the arrest of a bunch of black teens following and attack an sexual assault on a Central Park jogger that the crime demonstrated the need for the death penalty.
In both cases the conclusion was not only irresponsible, hateful and scary, the Donald's underlying "Facts" that triggered the psychotic episode were WRONG.
Obama won the Popular Vote (thanks Sergio)
Virtually nobody but Trump suggests that the death penalty is appropriate when there isn't a death. The Central Park victim was not killed. AND it was later proven that the kids arrested were NOT responsible for the assault. A crazy homeless dude assaulted the jogger.
Pile On, Kids!

Now, now. The Donald is...not well. He needs new meds.

Let's also keep in mind Sweaty Teddy's proclamation from earlier this year. Perhaps we'll see a self imposed death penalty.

Not sure when you wrote this, but as of now Obama is winning the popular vote.

I meant to emphasize that in the part of my post that you didn't quote. Instead, I mistakenly typed "Obama Won the Electoral Vote".
Thanks for calling this to my attention. I'll fix the post.

holier than thou
Hey, at least he's given up on ever receiving Obama's birth certificate/Harvard transcripts. For the time being.

Each Day Is A Gift.
It appears that "theDonald" and Brian Williams (NBC) had quite an exchange last night and today.
Williams - "Donald Trump, who has driven well past the last exit to relevance and peered into something closer to irresponsible here, is tweeting tonight,” the NBC newsman said."
Trump - "Brian, if I'm "well past the last exit to relevance" how come you spent so much time reading my tweets last night?"
Trump - "Brian Williams was never a smart guy but always passes himself off as such. People will learn the truth!"

Quite a revealing quote from a guy who was never a smart guy, is incapable as passing himself off as such and who never learns or accepts the truth.

1.Where is it written that every utterance of the Donald must be reported on? I mean, how is it that he having a conversation with Brian Williams of NBC?
2. As long as he has an audience, he'll keep right on going.
3. I'm starting to believe that the whole point of online life now is to have an identifiable following, whose names can be sold to marketers. It doesn't matter what you do, anymore, as long as you can make enough noise on the intertubes to draw a crowd.

I don't think he actually did. I believe he tweeted the absurd comment about the election being a revolution-worthy sham and then Brian Williams made a brief, accurate and dismissive comment on air about the tweet. After that, Trump's responses were also tweets. Which isn't to say that I disagree with your points about noise ruling. But I think Brian Williams comes out clean in this one.

Not really. Brian Williams has always crowed about being a news man.
While I don't disagree with the editorial, I do disagree with the editorializing.

I'm not interested in picking on Williams in particular. I'm just wondering why Trump still has enough status with the MSM that something he puts out on Twitter is considered newsworthy at all. Has he achieved permanent "newsworthy" status? Apparently he has, because his clownishness--and I mean the whole package, from the deranged pronouncements to the comb-over--has entertainment value. Which makes his schtick a variation on "If it bleeds, it leads" except without even the pretense of actual news content.

I think you summarized the essence of this controversy. One thing that should be obvious about Trump is that he is not only a major asshole, but he is a mean-hearted asshole. Not too many years ago, Donald got pissed off that he couldn't get his way about purchasing a rather large area of land directly in front of an established appartment complex with a good view of the Hudson River. Donald finds a way to get the land anyway and immediately proceeds to build an ugly-ass building that effectively blocked the view of the river.

with a twist
I don't see Trumps bloviations in the NYT. What I do see is the right wing echo chamber loving him exactly for his outspoken patriotism (puke), his thinly disguised racist attacks on Obama, and China for that matter, and I see the left wing version vilifying and mocking him. Dumb either way. Speaks volumes about our culture, kicked in the head repeatedly and now we arrive at this point. You can't stop Fox from giving him an outlet, and you shouldn't wish Jon Stewart to stop mocking him for laughs, but the rest of the media should know better. It isn't as if they would lose viewers if they ignored Trump (or is it?).
dumb sheep scared shitless craven ignorant nutjob tea bagger creeps
