    None from me, either. I like to think of "Soul Leo" as the ultimate refinement of the kind of stuff Cannonball Adderley was putting out in the late '60s.

    And I'm just now realizing that "Wingspan" was the first time I heard Kenny Garrett. Which later led me to "African Exchange Student" which features some of the same players (Tony Reedus, Charnett Moffett).

    I didn't realize it was actually Nile Rodgers playing. I thought someone just did an excellent job of capturing his feel and tone.

    There is a vague sci-fi utopian/dystopian element in the lyrics that the video brings out, and that's what elevates the tune beyond mere revivalism. I don't think it's going to bring back disco in a big way, though. At least I hope not!
